Worth the Drive
Really enjoyed the course. We drove in from Cedar Park. Well worth the drive. Greens we’re recently aerated but still putted well interesting layout with lots of dog legs and tree lined par threes. I’ll come back!
A very good Friday
Even when there are several patrons on the course the feel of low pressure persists. There were full tee slots but we made it around in just over four hours rarely having to wait. The course makes you place shots effectively and there is a balance between long and hard versus short and delicate holes. The course was lush and excellent to view. If there is one drawback the sandtraps could use some work but even these have improved since we last played there.
a hill country gem
What a surprise, the Lighthouse is a neat track plenty long enough ( 6400 off the tips) to challenge the majority of golfers it also has a few quirks using the local terrain to keep the interest alive. Course conditions on the fairways were excellent and although the greens had had some recent work they still played well I imagine that in normal play are superb.
Challenging and Playable
I heard that the course was always in very good condition with fast, consistent greens. After an hour & half drive from my home I found both to be true and well worth the trip! The fairways and greens were in great shape. The greens are VERY fast, so if you're a first time player be prepared. Very challenging, fun course and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I'll be back again.
Love this course
This course is challenging but fair. The employees are friendly and helpful. The carts are great, the food is good, and the price is good.
Lighthouse is worth your time.
I enjoyed my golf at Lighthouse. Each hole has distance or landscape challenges to test you.
Very Good
For late winter course over all in very good shape. Tee boxes really need some work though.
Worth the Drive.
Course is in good shape, well maintained fairways and bunkers, greens were smooth and fast. The local Kingsland residents have a nice course to call their own. Everyone from pro shop to members playing were very friendly and polite. Chris and I will be back since he got his butt whooped and wants a rematch!
Love this Hill Country Secret
Awesome course and staff! Really unique set up and challenging greens. My buddies and I play here regularly and have a great time each visit. Highly recommend it to golf enthusiasts.
Great Hidden Gem
Almost everything about this course is very good. The greens were perfect and fast with great roll, the fairways in very good shape for this time of year.Would recommend this course to anyone wanting a great time playing the game.
Great greens and interesting layout
Some of the best greens in the Austin area. Consistent speed and roll make for great scoring opportunities. Challenging layout with a variety of hole layouts and subtle dangers. Would definitely recommend this course to friends.
Fun but challenging
Fun course with it’s share of challenging holes. Mix of water and woods. 1 green surrounded by red granite that is absolutely stunning.
What a pleasant surprise!
The friendly staff welcomed us and had us on our way quickly. Despite the wet conditions the course was very playable. (I played it down and never had an issue with my lies.). Greens were fast and true. The layout required working the ball off the tees and into the greens. First time I’ve ever seen a greenside hazard consisting of a half-acre of exposed flat rock, fortunately tilted toward the green complex! An exceptional value and interesting story about the history of the course. Will look forward to an early return!
Good hill country course
The gentleman in the Proshop was very polite and helpful. The course is in good shape for winter and greens are rolling pure. Several holes were wet and 9 reduced to a par 3, a little disappointing but overall not bad. The wind always seams to blow at Lighthouses especially on the back 9. We played a golf now round which is reasonable. The daily rates seam to be rising and not enviting, $ 37 for a senior on this course is a little steep. Pace of play was okay with some wait. We did play thru a 3 some on 8 overall for our 4 some 4.5 hours.
Always a good time
Have played this course many times and have to say it is better every time we play it. Although it's winter in the hill country, the course is in great shape. The personnel continue to improve every time we return. We don't live here so are only able to play it once a month. But we rarely miss a chance to play here. You will not be dissappointed!
Best Value In The Hill Country
Play course once a year as part of Austin' First Tee Players Book and then a couple of other times of the year because just love the course.
The course is a lovely setting using the natural terrain. Greens are fast, but true. Some interesting holes without being gimmicky.
I love this course but the greens are like cement. No fun to have to putt on them. Why can't they make them player friendly? Most of us are not pros.
I be played this course hundreds of times, the greens are immaculate. They are fast and always in great shape. My suggestion is you practice your putting.
Always a good time
Love this course. Every hole different. Challenging. Beautiful and fun!
