Beautiful, well kept course
Fairways and Greens were in great shape. The ball didn't roll very far as it was early and wet. This is a course that you need to play to understand how to manage it. Club selection and course management are key. Will be back. Food was good at the bar and grill as well.
rude staff
course is in good condition, could use some professionals to run the pro shop.
no starter, we had 3 singles play through in the first 4 holes and then were admonished by the lady pro that we were holding up play. I would like to point out that we finished in 3 hours and 50 minutes and the 3 some behind our 4 some was more than a hole behind us. Bottom line course is busy that's great but if you're not part of the clique that plays out there regularly you aren't welcome.
Excellent greens
Great greens with beautiful shots of packsaddle mountain.
Good course
Course was in very good shape and the greens were excellent and fast.
Great deal. Will return
For January course was in good condition. The greens were fast and true. We will return. Great value
Hidden Gem
Off the main area of Kingsland, Texas this beautiful golf course is a treat to play!
Challenging yet manageable
Challenging yet manageable, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our day at the lighthouse country club.
We will be visiting in this area for a couple of weeks, and fully intend to go back and play some more golf there. We had a blast.
Worth the Trip
The course is moderate too easy. The greens and fairways are in excellent condition. The pro went out of his way to be sure we knew where the trouble on the course was and how to manage around it. I highly recommend it.
Wonderful course
Played on a Scrambles day. We were't in the scramble so the fivesom in front of us, slowed us down considerably. The course was excellent. Staff was friendly. Enjoyed it very much.
Texas Hill Country Bargain
We played this scenic course on a day when flood watches were posted; therefore, the 90-degree rule was in effect. Lucky for us, we got our 18 holes in including a lunch break at the turn with only a brief shower. Heard thunder rumble a few times.
The greens had recently been sanded. They held approach shots well and rolled true. The many contours made for challenging putting. Interestingly, even approach shots that landed vertically left no ball marks.
Fairways are wide, and rough is almost nonexistent except for the many scenic natural areas. Granite outcroppings and many varieties of cactus can be found in them. The course is not excessively long, but there is a lot of ground to cover between some holes on both nines. Therefore, carts are recommended. Cart paths are only hard surfaced near greens or where erosion is a problem. I like the rough-hewn look.
Pro shop staff couldn't be friendlier or more accommodating. We booked our round through Golf Now; we got a steal! Whether it was the dire weather forecast, the time of year, or something else, the course was almost empty. We set our own pace of play.
The Lighthouse Bar & Grill is excellent. The chicken-fried steaks are outstanding. So is the chicken salad plate and the catfish. Portions are generous, and the price is right.
Great course
Great course and surprisingly obstacles makes this course interesting.
Incredible
This is one of my all time favorite courses, I mean what other course has a giant granite outcropping in the middle of a hole? The greens are very quick and have lots of break, the layout is exceptional and you can score low here. This entire course is one of the best in its area and not to mention the exceptional food!!
Great Course, Slow Pace
Loved this course...great fairways, a few memorable holes, good hazards, elevation, really pretty hill country course.
Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was when I made the turn somehow a foursome got to start on #10 and they ended up right in front of me. Another foursome was right behind me, so all of us ended up waiting on this new foursome that started on the back nine. Not sure if it was their fault or the course's fault that they started on number 10, but they really put a damper on my second 9. There was no marshall to help rectify. Pace is such a big deal for the game these days, and it's unfair to allow one group to ruin the pace for 2-3 groups behind them.
Great Value, Challenging
The course is in great shape. The greens are rolling very good and are tricky. Overall it's a challenging course and a great value. The only gripe I have was that the bunkers are basically packed sand, making it hard to get under the ball so just don't be in a bunker. :-)
The couse was in excellent condition
The fairways and greens were in excellent condition. The greens were fast and true. Putting was challenging because of pin placements. Looking forward to playing the course again.
Highland Lakes surprise
If you haven't played here in a year or two you need to come back. Totally transformed in a good way out on the course. Excellent fairways and fine rolling greens. And it appears the course still strives toward improvement. You will not be disappointed playing this Hill Country jewel.
Great course.
Fun and challenging without being brutal. Most fairways are wide. Greens are quick.
great secret
The course was in excellent shape with the greens rolling perfect. Fairways were nice as well with no bad areas I normally see in the Dallas area. I will absolutely play this course again.
Great condition for hot Texas weather
The fairways were beautiful for the hot temperatures and lack of rain. The greens are fast but run true. Love this course.
Great Value
Lighthouse is a fun course. It is set a beautiful part of the Texas Hill Country with a Lake just a solid tee shot away. The greens and fairways were in great shape, especially for August in Texas. The cost was excellent.
