Reviews
Best course conditions
This course is perfect!! Lush green fairways and well maintained greens. Hitting the ball out of the fairway is like hitting off carpet. This is one of if not the best conditioned course I've played in the greater Houston area. A must play for golfers looking for great conditions.
Great Course
This was a very nice course. Great fairways and I'm sure the greens are usually very nice, they were just being aerated when I was there. They were still playing well and I was very happy with this course. Also, I went through GolfNow and only ended up paying $10 for this round and you can't beat that anywhere.
Nice track
Played yesterday the only issue were the greens recently punched. Overall a nice golf experience. Will be back in a couple weeks to see the real greens
Great conditions even in the rain.
We played Memorial Day and unfortunately our entire round was in the rain. With that said, the course held up very well and we were still off the cart paths. Many other courses would have been unplayable with the amount of rain that day.
Fairways and greens were in very good shape. Bunkers had plenty of sand.
We really enjoyed the course.
Fun in the rain
Fun course to play even though we got rained on the entire back 9. Looking forward to round two.
Course in great shape
I played La Torretta about a month ago and it was in fair shape then but now it is in really good shape. The greens are medium fast and it has good grass on the fairways. Both times I played the course it was not crowded (weekdays) at all. The normal green fees are a little high butt I seem to always can find a good deal on GOLFNOW.com.
La Toretta
Course was in great shape with the exception of a few tee boxes that could stand to be watered more to soften the soil. Had to find a place to put your tee. Would recommend playing the course especially if you have not played it in some time. Believe you be pleased with the condition.
Pretty Course with some Tight Out-of-Bounds on the Front 9
Played in mid-morning and played at a good pace. The course has some very nice and pretty holes especially on the back nine. The par 5s are all pretty short and reachable in two. The par 4s are challenging. Although the fairways are not small, many holes have out-of-bounds stakes very near the fairway/cartpath (even on holes that are wooded w/ no homes) Makes driving accuracy very important. Most par 4s are just long enough that a driver is needed to prevent very long approach shots. Par 3s are also pretty lengthy. Course was in good shape for the time of year. Greens putt true but were a little tough to read. Once I realized the importance of keeping the ball in play, I shot 3 over on back nine. Back nine is prettier and the holes more interesting as well. Front nine has some rather ugly scenary around the course itself (water treatment plant; home with tires stacked in back yard, etc)
A moderately challenging course, providing a good day of golf
We made a late booking of this course. The course had been closed for maintenance on Monday morning - only open for play from 12 noon. The course was quiet, so we could play at our own pace and managed to get round in about 3 hours. There are some challenging holes, particularly the ninth, dog leg right round trees and then water to clear before the green. There are also some straightforward holes. Our only slight criticism is the lack of directions from the second green to the third tee. Overall a moderately challenging course, providing a good day of golf.
The New Del Lago
The course was in the best shape I've ever seen it in 15 years. Greens, fairways and tee boxes were fantastic. Not an easy course but a lot of fun to play. Would highly recommend making a trip out to Lake Conroe to play this course.
Great course for the price
Played at La Torretta for $24. What a deal for such a beautiful course. Not crowded (Tuesday) and played at a casual pace. Lots of water and some very challenging holes for a 67 year old, 15 handicap. Par fours are long and hard to reach in two. Greens were in great shape. Rolled smooth and fast. Worth the trip.
Awesome experience!!!
Course was in great shape....my twosome played in 2 1/2 hours....friendly and courteous staff...best value for the money in the Houston area...well worth the drive....will be back real soon....thanks!
Great condition
The course was in great shape. Greens were tight and great condition.
nice tract
Good shape for early season. Lots of trees lining fairways, great deal for the price.
The course was in very good condition considering the winter we had.
Great course friendly folks ,fast pace golf, and very good conditions. Enjoyed the course and the day.
wet and long
The course is nice but very tough and long wet conditions the day I played but would plat again..
worth the drive
tee boxes excellent. greens little slow. greens patchy, but overall okay, not great. fairways great for time of year. many leaves just off fairways.
Good course for all level of players
The course is in very good shape for this time of year. The greens are fast but not too undulating, just enough to keep you guessing on speed. Fairways present enough hazards (water and bunkers) to force you to play quality shots and not just bomb it out there. It was a bust Friday afternoon, but still played reasonably fast.
Great character
Great course, some narrow and challenging fairways, but fair overall. GolfNow should not charge $5 to book online.
This course has great features
They need to work on their snack bar staff. Extremely slow service if your making a turn!
