Beautiful day! Leaves starting to change. Unfortunately, the mountain course was closed so the other courses were slow playing. Also,the greens had recently been aerated so putting was difficult. Conditions will probably be better in a few days.

Too bad I wasn't told that one of the nines was just aerated. Greens were totally unputtable. Of the three nines one was closed and one was aerated. The course management should let guests know ahead of time.

You can play this course using golf now for only $24 and you get about $24 worth of value. They simply do not put money back into the course unless it is beyond needed. The cart paths are bone jarring and I mean bone jarring. Much of the course is the same way as you bounce almost off the ground even going slowly. To save money there is often not even a starter. One virtually never sees a cart lady. They have begun to replace the rock traps, oops sand traps, several years ago and still have a large number that has not been touched. The staff is friendly and you get what you get for $24 but it's not quality golf in the slightest.

Course was in greate shape. Played 27 in 5 hours. Staff was very friendly. Everybody on course was very friendly and let me play through. Will deffently return

You can't beat the beauty and challenge of the Stratton Mountain Lake-Mountain-Forrest 27 hole complex. The staff is wonderful and the course conditions were perfect.

Played Stratton for first time, drove about 1 hr 15 min from Lake George,NY area. . Played the Lakes course as front 9, and Mountain course as second nine. Beautiful views from every hole. Would love to see what it looks like in the fall. Layout wasn't very difficult, but did require some creativity as a first time visitor. Plenty of blind tee shots and many holes with either up or down elevation changes to make it fun. Can't wait to play again. Greens weren't fast at all, which allowed for very aggressive approach towards putting.

I returned several years after the Stratton golf school. Played the Lake and mountain courses. Both were. Halle gong with some blind shots and lots of hazards. Very enjoyable.

We were in town for a meeting and had the time to sneak away for an afternoon round. What a gorgeous course! We had a ton of fun, even with a bit of summer afternoon drizzle. Be warned though, if you're a bit off line, you will lose every ball in the vegetation. ;)

I played all three nines (4 1/2 hours total) so will comment on all three. First of all the entire staff outstanding. That includes the pro shop staff, the outside attendants, and the wait staff in the restaurant.

I played alone in the afternoon, with my wife along taking flower pictures and occasionally providing swing tips. We we able to zip around the courses, and played through a total of four groups during the rounds. All three nines were in very good condition. My only "knock" in this area was the beautiful, but SLOW greens. I'd guess them at a 6-7 stimpmeter reading. the greens were large with reasonable breaks, but having to slam the putts kept me from scoring well.

The Forest nine was the most difficult, with significant elevation changes and occasional blind shots. Tree-lined fairways were wide enough, but did present some intimidation anyway. I'd love to play it again to extract some revenge.

The Mountain nine was so named because I could see Mt. Stratton from every hole. It played less mountainous than the Forest nine. The par 5 number 6 hole was a challenge, even from the 545 white tees. I tried a tee ball .through the chute on the 621 yard blue tee, but the second shot "got" me as there is a creek crossing the fairway that threatens the long second shot. This nine was pretty with a good variety of holes.

With the pro's permission I slipped onto the Lake nine. Oddly, the very pretty lake never came into play, and was only visible from 1, 8, and 9, I found this nine to be a bit easier than the other two. The scorecard suggested it to be slightly longer than the other two, but it seemed shorter to me. Perhaps the par three number 7 skewed the yardage, as it played 235 yards. I used driver, a chip and a putt, and was happy with my par. Holes 8 and 9 proved my major challenge, with 8 a long up hill 4 and nine an intimidating first, second, AND third shot par five. My double bogie finish did not detract from a most enjoyable experience.

Prior to the golf, my wife and I ate lunch at the restaurant on site. There was a nice variety of choices on the menu, though all a bit pricey. We paid more for lunch than I paid for 27 holes of golf.

Pardon my wordiness, but there was a lot to experience at Stratton Mountain. I would highly recommend this venue to any golfer, low or high handicapper alike.

Honestly I can't say a negative thing about today's golf experience. Weather was picture perfect and course conditions was just about pristine on every hole. No issue with pace because it seemed like we had the place to ourselves. With some rain fall the fairways and greens were receptive so scoring was pretty good. Fairways are moderately wide and forgiving enough for all levels of play. Friendly staff was helpful and accommodating and food for lunch was very tasty. Was glad I decided to play this track on our road trip.

My son and i played this course for the first time. We were greeted by the magnificent foliage display as we approached the course and throughout the course. The course was in the best shape of any courses I have played in VT, NH, GA and FL. The course was challenging for us but we didn't care what the score was because we were so awestruck by the scenery and the layout of the course. We can't wait to return to play again. The person who signed us in was very friendly and explained the course to us since it was our first time. The course also was well marked so we had no problem finding each tee. It also had distances to hazards which was helpful.

Each hole has something different. Nothing generic here. Nicely groomed, plush fairways for a mountain course.
