Slow play
We teed of at 1 and at 4 pm we made the turn
Paid for 18 but only played 9
I get it’s a holiday round but they should have given us a 9 hole rain check when we asked
Poor conditions
I've played here before, but no more. The course condition were terrible. Very little green grass on the fairways. Greens were nice. Won't be going back.
Nice course and good value
Really nice course with friendly people and excellent amenities! Highly recommend
Great outing
Staff excellent, course in great shape - lunch at grill was fantastic!
great course
very fun course, super wooded/rustic, really nice ambiance. some unique and challenging holes, especially the par 3's over water and waste, with elevation changes. conditions were good, greens quick. tee boxes a little wet/messy on our morning. had a great time overall would play again.
Great traci
I thoroughly enjoyed playing this course. It was raining and very wet but I still thought it was in great shape and the putting greens especially well kept.
In Excellent Condition
I love the layout of The Green, and try to play it whenever I'm in Williamsburg. The course was in excellent condition from tee to green. The rough was even nice. The only reason I gave it 4 starts vs 5 is because some of the bunkers (not all) had some standing water and wall erosion from the recent rains. The crew just hadn't fixed it yet. The pace was good on the front nine, but then we rain into a group of players who really didn't know how to play...it took them six shots to get to the 150 yard marker (maybe they should have played from a more forward tee!). Luckily, it was only the last five holes. I called at 11:30 to see if I could get on and the lady who answered the phone was so warm and accommodating...I was teeing off at 12:40. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. The Green course is underrated compared to it's sister course, The Gold; however, it's a very different look and feel and definitely worth playing. You will be surprised!
Makes you choose your shots wisely.
Very beautiful course and well maintained. Cart path only due to the recent rains but the greens sped up throughout the morning. Very fast greens. Outstanding staff and the starter was very knowledgeable of shot selection and course management. Very slow pace of play. The group ahead of me that I passed on hole 13 was running about a 5.5 hour round. Management was quick to keep them moving and speed up their round. I will definitely be coming back.
Fun and fast round
Had a great experience today at the Golden Horseshoe. They paired me up with a member (nice gentleman) that likes to walk and we were the 1st ones off. We finished in under 3 hours and had a great time. Because of all the heavy rain this week it was cart path only. I expected the course would be very wet, however, it was better than expected. Course was very playable. Of course there was not much roll. Greens were in great shape and the speed was perfect. Thanks Golden Horseshoe for a wonderful experience.
True to form
I’ve played the Green course at the Golden Horseshoe complex 4 times over the past 4 years and every time has been as advertised. The course is always in great shape. The greens are tough but fair and will hold a well struck shot. Don’t pass up a chance to play this Rees Jones gem.
Surprisingly awesome!
I expected this course to be a step down from the other Golden Horseshoe course but it really wasn't! The Grange were in great shape the fairways were in great shape except for all of the water and the tees were in great shape. We are looking forward to playing the rest of our 18 holes on Thursday if it ever stops raining!
