My Favorite local Course
This is a very scenic and immaculately maintained golf course. The amenities are first class; electric golf carts, titlist range balls, practice area, etc. etc.You have to be very accurate with your shot selection. This course is set up to reward you with good shots, and punish you with bad shots. I nicknamed this course the Unforgiven golf course after the Clint Eastwood Movie. I would play this course more often, but the green fees are too high for my retirement budget.
Take your time be really comitted to your shot
Can't wait to play again. This course is truly ClassA
Very challenging especially into the wind. Lots of elevation changes
Very challenging course with lots of elevation changes. Holes playing into the wind were much harder than downwind
Do not miss the fairway.
Very difficult rough. A great challenge of a course. Really enjoyed the GPS carts.
Supurb Golf Course
The best course we have played in the Northwest! Course condition could not have been better. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were as good as the pros play every week. Food excellent, staff top notch. If this course was closer to Seattle I would play it on a regular basis.
Beautifully manicured
I was amazed of how nice the tee boxes were. The overall condition of the course was outstanding, if there was an immaculate option to select I would've chosen it.
make the drive
Made the drive from Tacoma in about 40 minutes. What a great course. The range was in bad shape where they had the stakes, but from then on everything was exceptional. Plenty of elevation change and pristine bunkers.
The scenery is beautiful . Definitely worth the drive and money.
Fantastic
Great course. Friendly staff. One of our all time favorite places to play.
beautiful greens
great layout. super friendly staff. great pace of play
Worth the drive
I live an hour and a half away but it was worth the drive to play at least once. Immaculate conditions and can be extremely challenging depending on what tees you play. Greens are running slow but true. If you're a high handicapper bring a lot of balls.
enjoy the day
Course was very nice, played on a wet, windy day (June in the PNW) staff was great, the car GPS was very helpful.
First rate
Practice facilities are awesome. The course itself was in great shape, challenging layout. They gave us a bogo coupon to make up for the slow play, but we finished in just over 4 hours, so I guess they actually care about pace of play. The casino next door is nice.
Loveley Facility
Best part: I arrived a few minutes late for my tee time. It wasn't busy so the pro shop assured me it was okay to warm up and go out when I was ready. Super friendly staff. Really windy day, which I don't think is the norm. You will lose a lot of balls if you are not a straight hitter, but I felt the course wasn't too penalizing for a little waywardness. Course was beautiful tee to green. Will play again when I can afford the 3 hour round trip from Seattle.
Tees, fairways, sandtraps and greens in fabulous condition
You can't play a better conditioned course than Salish Cliffs.I can't get over how great the fairways and greens were. They can't get any better. All the tee boxes were flat and grass was plush. The scenery from every hole was worth taking a picture of.
Will definitely play this course again.Good idea to play the tee's boxes that match-up to your game.Tee it up forward would be the way to go if there's any doubt. You'll also definitely want a cart.
fun
setting is beautiful
course well-maintained
rough is impossible
Pro shop
Everything was great at the coarse and with everyone but Steve in the pro shop. We booked our time in the afternoon and they had a wide open schedule and we asked to be moved to the next tee time and Steve refused and was very rude about it. After driving over a hour to the coarse to have a good time the last thing you want to encounter first is a very rude and not friendly employee.
Great greens
Best greens around ! Beautiful course , in great condition !
Challenging yet beautiful
Just off of Highway 101, apart of the Little Creek Casino & Resort, Salish Cliffs Golf Course offers some of the best course conditions Washington State has to offer.
My father and I arrived at approximately 1:30 p.m., about ten minutes after our scheduled tee times; however, there course was wide open, so there wasn't any rush for us to get on the tee box. While generally my father and I walk, I would highly recommend renting a cart for the round, because while the course isn't extremely long, the distance in between holes can be a bit much at times.
The golf cart came stocked with complementary range balls, which we used to warm up before the round. The cart was also equipped with six long tees, two towels, and a cooler, which the staff was more than willing to grab ice for our round. In addition to the driving range, just before the 1st tee box there are several chipping and putting greens that can be used to warm up, should there be a wait on the tee box.
The course offers five different tee boxes, we chose to play from the white tees, and while the holes weren't overly long, what made it challenging was how narrow the fairways were. Unlike some of the other courses that we've played recently, there is little forgiveness for players who tend to spray the ball off to the right or the left of the fairway. With thick trees and an a deep rough, we joked that "if you find your ball, it's by mistake."
All jokes aside, tee boxes, fairways, rough, and greens were manicured to perfection. When I managed to find the fairway off the tee box, I was left with more than ideal to conditions to play from and even the fringe and rough wasn't too bad at all. I'd be hard pressed to name another course in Washington that is as maintained as Salish Cliffs.
Also, renting a cart could be a major benefit as well, because it is equipped with a GPS monitor that not only provides an overview of each hole, but it also provides golfers with the distance to the front and back of the green. This made approach shots much easier, because instead of having to guess the distance, we were able to refer to the golf cart for optimal club selection.
Nearly all tee boxes were equipped with ball-cleaners and about every third or fourth hole there was a water cooler, for players to get water.
In addition to the course conditions, which I can't stress enough how pristine it is, it offers some of the most beautiful hole designs I've played.
While this course isn't for everyone, due to how narrow it is and how the wind can impact ball flight, for those who can hit the ball straight with consistency, this should be a prime destination for a round.
The staff is friendly, the course is well-maintained, and it offers not only a challenging round, but a scenic round as well.
Excellent and challenging
My game would have been better and should have enjoyed the game more except for the weather. As you all know, its always raining in washington. Still the course was in playing condition. I would have appreciate it better if We played in sunny conditions. It's also a little bit pricey but well worth it.
Great course
Great course, tight in some spots, open in others. Greens were really fast and quite good....all in all a really good course, worth the drive from Seattle for sure.
