Great for this time of year!

The course offers a real challenge for those that want to play from the tips, and also for the average golfer. Golf cart GPS (required) are top notch. Course was being aerated and sprayed on a few holes that was a little distracting, but the course is draining beautifully. Got a HOT DEAL from Golf Now @ $37. Definitely a great deal! Salish Cliffs is a must play for NW Golfers.

Best Course in the area

I have played Salish several times. In the summer it is in excellent condition, flawless. I've also played it in early spring and late fall, the course was being plugged, but still very playable. The clubhouse and restaurant staff is very friendly, and the food is very good. I would play Salish every chance I get!

Better during the summer???

This course should be very nice when they haven't sanded every fairway and green. Word to the wise, I should have asked but with my Golf now discount, we didn't feel too bad about the round. If I would have paid full price....not too sure about that feeling. Would rather play it during the summer but still look for the golf now discount.....a little pricey but nice.

Too much sand

I have been playing Fall golf in the Pacific Northwest for over 40 years and have never before played a course where the first seven fairways were covered with an inch thick layer of sand. After a perfectly placed tee shot in the middle of the fairway it was as if you were hitting your second shot from a fairway bunker. I understand that this was done to help the course maintain its condition over the Winter months, but I would not have chosen to drive 2 hours each way to play this course had I known this in advance. Thankfully we received a discounted rate from Golf Now and did not pay the full $90 regular price or I would have asked for my money back. I look forward to playing this course again under better conditions.

Wow!

This course has it all! Beautiful layout, isolated (and immacculate) fairways, carries over water (over ravines, over wetlands), elevated tee boxes, long par 4's, narrow fairways in places (with blind drop zones), wide drop zones on others, doglegs (left and right), great risk/reward decisions. Just about anything you might like to find on a golf course can be found here. Some fun par 3's. A really nice practice facility. Can't say enough about the course. I played the day after a heavy rain and two weeks after the greens had been punched (and some of the fairways had recently been sanded too) - so it could have been better - but now I really want to go back in the peak of the season to see this course at its very best.

A comment about the value for price rating I made: Because it was fall maintenance time and because I got a hot deal off of the Golf Now site, I only paid $25 for my round - at that price this was an amazing deal even with all the maintenance that was in progress (good to know they're taking care of this course). At the regular price, which I believe is $89, I would rate as average value - I would definitely pay the regular rate to play this course in peak season/condition, but at close to a hundred bucks, it's difficult to call anything a "great" value (just worth the money you pay for it).

In summary, you gotta play this course - you won't be disappointed.

this course is a great summer course. winters - forget it.

the course is very challanging, with a great layout. but, in the fall and winter when it is wet, this course gets very slippery. most of the terrain is clay. when it is wet, lookout.

Just wanted to let you know that we put in over 2 miles of additional drainage and look forward to being drier this winter than ever before. New courses often take 3-5+ years of additional work to get irrigation and drainage everywhere it needs. Additionally, our bent grass fairways are atypical to the PNW and play softer than many other surfaces. Thanks for your comments and we hope to welcome you back soon!

Spectacular layout

This was really a beautiful course. The greens had been plugged and sanded about a week and a half ago but it really did not take away from the experience at all. I have played other courses when they were pretty new but Salish Cliffs is really an advanced 2 year old. I do not stray away from my home course much because of time and money but when I do I will definitely come back here.

Nice course, but expensive

Not sure it is worth the cost. We went there on Golfnow rewards or would have never paid their fees. The condition is wonderful, the weather was perfect when we were there but the pace was slow. The marshall at the beginning of the second 9 said it was the busiest day they had ever had...I believe it. We had to wait a long time at each hole. But the course itself is interesting, relatively difficult and long. I don't know if they allow walkers, but it would be a pretty difficult walk.

One of the best in State

This golf course is great. Beautiful mountain views. Well maintained, friendly, well run golf course. We love playing there. Enjoyable at any level of play. The course has been just aerated and sanded and it still is enjoyable to play.
A must try on any golfers list!

Nice setting, pretty course, loved the range

Go and play the course, you won't regret it. Nice layout and interesting holes. I expect it's generally in great condition but it was raining pretty good off and on and golfers seemed to be seeking the cover of the cart rather than fixing divots and ball marks. The general course maintenance was great, my day was just colored by playing lousy in the rain. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Course was nice. Was to be plugged two days later so some of the greens needed attention. Ball marks that werent being repaired

Most of staff was cordial. It started raining and had hoped to get off earlier if it was quiet staff held us back until our tee time. Last time on the t sheet with openings ahead of us but they would not accommodate Otherwise very good experience..

One of the best in Washington

Salish Cliffs is a wonderful course. We played after a few days of rain so the entire course was saturated. The fairways looked great (from the box) but were so saturated every shot either plugged or had zero roll out. Massive divots and trenches were all over the place, players were having a difficult time replacing divots or filling in with sand. The better play was to miss the fairways and play the first cut which was more firm. Greens were nice, lots of divots, but that could have been due to the rain. Quite a few lazy golfers play this course. Being how the course is new, the root structure of the grass needs to develop. In a few years this will be in the top 3 of Washington. Still needs to grow in but totally worth coming down and playing.

perfectly maintained, satisfyingly challenging course

When you see any rates on sale for this course, play it. It is definitely one of the top 3 courses in WA state. cart GPS, perfect fairways and greens, pristine bunkers well placed to make you think, great service from beginning to end. I'm very happy and will try and play again despite the 90 minute drive from seattle.

Spectacular, spectacular

This is the most spectacular course I've played in years. A real treat! The only drawback is that some others were ahead of us and enjoying playing as many strokes as we did so play was a little slow.

Course has great layouts

Course has great layout. If you play late, you're have to deal with the wind. The course is still young especially the greens. The greens were slow compare to the practice green. Few more years, the course should be in perfect playing condition. Overall, I enjoyed the play.

A gorgeous and challenging golf course!

My second time playing here, it got the best of me again, but that just makes me want to come back even more. They were doing a little maintenance on the tee blocks and fairways, but it was still in great shape. The terrain that they had available for this course has made this a very fun and interesting layout, that while tough it is still fair. In my group I had three friends that had not played it before, a 1 handicap, a 3 handicap and a 9 handicap. They could not quit complimenting the conditions and layout, the 9 handicap shot an amazing 1 under 35 on the front, before reality came back and he shot a 48 on the back. We’ll be back again soon!
