Skamania Lodge

About Skamania Lodge
The Skamania Lodge in the scenic Columbia River Gorge has taken a new approach to golf with the complete redesign of its original course. The new 9-hole short course, The Gorge 9, and 18-hole putting course, The Little Eagle 18, debut in 2021 to make playing the game more casual and quicker for all players. The resort itself offers renovated guestrooms, suites with fireplaces and Treehouses perched high off the ground for the kid in everyone. Onsite activities take advantage of the natural surroundings with ziplining, an aerial park, axe throwing and outdoor basketball, tennis and volleyball courts. Within the gorge, go hiking, kayaking, fishing, tour six breweries or try wine tasting at 35 different wineries. Indoors, there’s a spa, pool, fitness center and game room.Facts

Great location and views of Columbia
Enjoyed course, well protected despite high wind. Keep the ball on course or bring a lot of extra balls
Warning
The course was great and the staff was even better. Golf now screwed up and didn't mention that half the course was closed and the greens were freshly punched. Had to play the front nine twice but the pro shop was willing to throw in a free cart because of golf now'a screw up.
Great place
Great place to play very challenging keep driver in bag most of the holes! Love playing here.
The fairways are very tight
The fairways are very narrow but they are not great distances so good for senior golfers like me. Holes are very picturesque and greens are challenging. I will definitely play it again and again.
Great layout, average conditions
A short point to point hilly course. The greens are readable and fairly straight forward. The fairway conditions were well below average for other Portland area courses. $50 bucks is a fair price for greens fees, cart and hot dog at the turn. Extremely beautiful location.
Weird course, not maintained well.
Skamania is a weird course. Lots if blind shots, crazy elevation changes, strange green shapes. But there are a few problems. The greens were slow, bumpy and inconsistent from one hole to the next. Fairways and rough were also not maintained well. It played like a rural municipal course, not a resort course (which it is).
This course is very tight. If you miss tr fairway at all, you will loose a golf ball. I question the 68 rating. I'm a low handicapper and I don't know any scratch players who would shoot under par here. The woods (not marked as a hazard) make errant shots subject to stroke and distance, and because the course is so tight, even a slight miss is a 2 stroke penalty.
Not my favorite course.
The course has beautiful surroundings and a very peaceful atmosphere.
I always enjoy playing at Skamania because it is a great place to have a fun day.
Course has great views and different challenges on the long holes. The 8th is very difficult to master.
The overall experience is worth the 50 minute drive into the Gorge.
Skamania Shines
We play here frequently but this was one of our best experiences. We had the first tee time, no wind, sunshine and spectacular scenery. The course conditions were incredible, especially the greens, and you can't find a friendlier, more accommodating staff than Guy and his crew. I highly recommend this course. If you can't keep it down the middle, take plenty of balls.
Fantastic!!!
It's very narrow that's for sure but that's ok gotta hit a lot of irons off the tee. For playing it for the first time it was tough. The greens were very good rolled good. Not sure I've ever putted on such good greens!!! Good times can't wait to go back
Well
Weather was good, players was good but course was no good.
this course is scenic
i had a great time in the gorge. the trees are everywhere on this course with a lot of elevation changes.
Mistake exposure
While this course isn't long, it makes up for it in exposing your shot selection and accuracy. I didn't really get to understand this until the back nine, when I decided to just start trusting my go to shooting by using an iron off the tee, and not overplay it like I did on the front. I then played much better.
Beautiful and scenic course
The course was in great shape, very tight and challenging course where you need to be very accurate on each shot. The staff was very attentive and friendly so we had a great time.
Make sure to hit it straight
Awesome course, great experience. The food is also awesome.
Most Beautiful Course I have ever played
The stunning views of rock walls, Columbia Gorge and River, with wild life is spectacular. I have played this course a lot, and remains my favorite of any I have ever played. So peaceful there.....
Only thing I personally do not like is placement of zip lines near the course.
One of the NW best.
Excellent, fun golf course. Greens were incredibly maintained for having been aerated 5 days earlier.
Bring extra balls!
Very fun and challenging course! Quite narrow so balls can be lost quite easily on a bad shot lol will definatley play skamania again tho :)
Beautiful course
a few soggy spots but expected anywhere this time of year. very beautiful challenging course. hit the ball straight. i will be back for sure!
Gorgeous setting and well kept course. Challenging.
Challenging course. Ball placement style. Super setting and views.
