Great day
Great day and great service. A real bargain for the price. A moderately difficult course with great views from certain tees.
Greens are in Great Shape
In spite of the dry weather the greens are in great shape. Most of the fairways are pretty dry, which gives you added distance to brag about on your drives!
Best bargain
Played 18 with a cart for $18
Had to wait to get a cart to start & Pace of play was very slow.
No biggie, was a great day
Fun but a little quirky.
You just about need a road map to find your way around, but it is a fun little course. It was perfect for my brother in-law and nephew who don't get out very often.
Not alot of hazards and pretty wide open. You do have to watch out for the fescue. Lots of it and very deep in spots.
On the up!
great course! If you like a links style course try it.
friendly staff and golfers
I was supposed to be grouped with 2 others, but I got out early. Played through 2 fousomes, neither hesitated to let me throught, which was nice. I question the yardage marker on hole 13. Card said 355 from the tee I was playing. Hit a 3 wood (normally 220-240 yards) and I hit it pretty decent. I still had 167 left, I am sure the tee marker is wrong.
Good Value
Fairways are very uneven. Fun course otherwise. Good staff. Clean.
Great Golf in Skagit Co.
Things have changed around a bit since we last played the course. Back nine first. Additional tall rough in places forces accurate shots. The day we played the course was very nice and the greens were firm and true. A really nice round.
Not bad
Not to bad . Seemed like needs to be a little better marked . Good for a little different play from other local courses.
grrrreat
A++++ will do it again for sure ty ty ty cannot say enough
A surprise!
We were surprised at how well the course played. Play moved right along. Staff is very friendly, golf store is stocked well. It was spring and was not muddy at all like other courses right now. Greens were very nice and sanded. Lay out is kooky but fun. We will return even though its a 45 minute drive for us, it was worth it! For you par 5 fans, a couple of holes for you. One par three, tee off on a cliff, shoot over a gully and water up to a steep green. Fun!
Needs some TLC
The one hole you can see from the highway is awesome! Lots of water, deep traps, beautiful green. It is a shame it is the only hole like that. Fairways are in bad shape, very bumpy. The casino should spend some of that money I donated and do some serious repairs. For the price it is a fair deal.
Best if you do a stay and play
We did a stay and play with unlimited golf on Saturday and Sunday. The rooms at the Casino were great. The staff was awesome in helping us with special request. And the casino was fun even though I didn't win. Great live band playing some good oldies from the 80's. Now let's get to the golf, the course had just plugged and sanded the greens about a week earlier (wish we were told when we booked our stay) and so the greens were not in good shape yet. Keeping that in mind I did not rate the course on that fact. This golf course could use allot of help. The casino really needs to throw some money at the course and give it some character. It was like golfing, and I hate to use the words, an upgraded cow pasture. Because we got such a great deal on the stay and play I can't complain to much but I am actually going golfing somewhere else on Sunday even though it would have been free today as well. They do have full hook-ups for the RV which is nice. If they throw some money on upgrading the course this could be worth the trip.
Wait for it to dry out.
This is a very fun course. Nestled between two bays with views of my baker and puget sound.
They DO NOT HAVE Power carts during the wet season. BE AWARE as we were there for dad's 71st bday and wished for one for him. Cart included meant nothing when I booked the tee time and we didn't find out until arrival............. Get it right GOLFNOW AND SWINOMISH LINKS!!!!
It's great for beginners and experienced golfers too. The rates are right for what it offers.
This is a fun little track that can test everyone's skills.
Conditions rating was due to so much standing water and sloppy muddy fairways.
Nice course, but needs investment capital
This is a fairly nice course, it just needs some improvements.
The first thing I noticed is that it is still under the name similk as far as Garmin is concerned. Also, the greens no longer match, since tee 10 is now tee 1. The owners need to update the course information since hundreds of golfers use Garmin and rely on it to measure their shots. Additionally ground markers need to be installed for those without a golf aid to measure distance.
The fairways are in bad need of grading. You have to hold on for dear life to keep from bouncing out of your cart.
The greens are definitely improving since it became Swinomish. Keep up the good work.
Trail signs need improving. It's easy to get lost out there.
Nice open course layout
Great course for all golfers, not much of a challenge, but still lots of fun to play.
Swinny golf
This course is getting better every week. Staff is friendly and prices are very reasonable. Greens are phenomenal. Can't wait to go out again.
Location, location
Early a.m. start allowed us to go as fast as we chose. Less than 5mph wind took some difficulty out of both nines. Greens receptive, but slower than some other local courses. Great course to play to your handicap. Only surprise was a recent reversal of front & back nines which challenged my GPS device until I figured out how to reconfigure.
Nice walk
Played here on a Sunday with the wife. We were told there was a tournament in progress but they would be at turn as we teed off. The course is fairly open, mainly flat but a few holes (4 or 5) that are up and down. Greens were in great shape and fairways were firm with a nice roll. Rough was under 1 1/2 inches so finding and playing your ball was no major issue. This is a great course for mid-high handicappers. I think if you are a lower handicapper it may be less of a challenge. It was also very walkable just one real uphill hole. The Golf Now value pack of cart, range balls and hot dog and drink was great value. Nice views as well.
better than ever
first played this course in 1992. This was my first round since the change of ownership. Greens were fabulous. best shape they have ever been. Receptive, ran true, and ran out. Returning for another round on Wednesday. The course has always played a bit on the easy side, but the greens were always disappointing. This is no longer an issue. I have heard the new ownership have plans to expand south and add nine holes.
What course were you at??
