Fallen on hard times.
I played this course a lot in the 90's and early 00's. The greens were some of the best in the county and the fairways while unwatered were well maintained. The little hut by the 10th tee was always a great place to grab a beer and a
brat. A few owners later the course is in rough shape. The greens have issues and are uneven, more rough has grown up on an already tight course. The hut at the turn has closed, and the cart paths are beyond rough.
Quick Door County Golf Escape
Nice course, reasonably priced that does not get bogged down with congested play.
Eighteen holes can be played easily in three hours.
Great course
Course is short but challenging. Great scenery and use of the natural layout
Needs work
Rough fairway conditions and not much signage to direct to the next hole Good greens .
Could be great
This course has an interesting, varied layout that provides a variety of challenges. I really want to love it, but I can only say like because there continue to be condition problems, despite the advertising that they have rededicated themselves to improving those conditions. Many tee boxes were in rough shape, and several of the greens had areas of burn out and poor maintenance. No refreshments available via cart. I hope they are in a transition for these things. I'll play it again.
Fun course!
Very nice staff and nice course layout. Not too challenging but very fun. Beautiful scenery. The paths were a little bumpy and dry but the course is in nice shape for July. It wasn't very busy when I went, which was great for a relaxing pace. I'll be back!
Not worth the effort
Played the course on July 18th. First, and last time playing. Positives: the course has some hills, which makes shots challenging. On two holes, you hit down slope into a valley. Negatives: Directional signage is lacking. Figuring out where the next tee box is was sometimes a challenge. Greens are very hard, and some greens have diseased turf. Tee boxes are not well taken care of. Fairways are not in the best shape either.
There are better courses in Door County.
Nice Experience
I played early in June on a Tuesday morning. I had my almost 3 year old daughter and she loved it. Staff was friendly from the moment I got there.
The course had some challenging elevation that was different than anything I've played before.
Pace of play was perfect. A larger group let me play through which was greatly appreciated.
Definitely recommend the course for someone looking for a fun round.
Course doesn’t have a flatline anywhere makes it challenging, but makes you a better golfer. The only thing I would say if you go now bring bug spray the mosquitoes were bad
