Cherry Hills Lodge & Golf Course

About
Cherry Hills Golf Course sprawls across gently rolling countryside in Sturgeon Bay. The layout tumbles across a variety of elevation changes that make for some challenging, hard-to-read greens. Some have even compared them to Pinehurst's famous greens. Be prepared to have your short-game skills thoroughly tested. The front nine is slightly more forgiving than the back nine where the fairways are narrower and many are lined with out-of-bounds stakes. Water hazards come into play one four holes and there are a few strategically placed sand traps. The golf course is challenging but fair and not too intimidating for beginners, especially since at just over 6,200 yards, it is a manageable length. In addition to the course, there is also a lighted driving range at Cherry Hills G.C.

Nice place, hilly course, green grass, well kept
Went here for the first time and found it very nice. Challenging hills, only one or two greens were in bad repair. Very friendly desk staff. I’d golf there again. I didn’t see any drink service on course. Hot dogs sandwiches inside to purchase. Cart worked fine.
Up and Down the Hillside
The layout is challenging yet fun. My group is all over 70 years old so the up and down hills and sideways lies are a little tough. Last year we played for the first time in several years and thought conditions were greatly improved. This year it seemed a half step back with some very tall rough around certain greens including the cliff hole. We wish the greens were a little less crowned for the average golfer. The clubhouse person was friendly enough but there's basically no food available on Wednesday so we brought our own sandwiches. All in all Cherry Hills is a good value and if you've never played it, you should.
Played 18 in 2 hrs 45 minutes 2 some
Course was not busy 55 degrees and cloudy midweek 2 some we were and never ran into another golfer until after the turn very enjoyable round par 5 are not long was reachable with 2 shots for a player that is over 55. Greens in great shape all putts break towards the water.
The course was in good condition especially the majority of the greens. Its an enjoyable course and we picked a quiet day so no feeling rushed.
Fun track
1st time golfing Cherry Hills and we found It fun and challenging. We will be back.
Only for the Adventurous Golfer
Very hilly tract, fairways only average, greens mostly elevated, definitely would benefit if playing a second round.
Fun for everyone
I think this is easily the best course in door county. There was variety in many different ways and all of it was positive. Carts were nice. Greens were well taken care of. Quiet location so you weren’t ever distracted. All in all AMAZING
Entertaining
I especially enjoyed the fairway elevation changes. The layout way quite good. I felt the greens were a bit to "bowl shaped" causing good shots to the green to roll off the green.
The actual fairways were not closely mowed, looking somewhat like the rough.
None of these things bothered me, as I don't worry about my score, but it does make a difference in a three star vs a 5 star rating.
