Devil's Head Resort
About Devil's Head Resort
Devil’s Head Resort in Merrimac in Sauk County has grown from a small ski resort to one of Wisconsin’s best ski-and-golf destinations. The resort opened in 1970 with a 92-room hotel, four chairlifts and 10 runs in 1970. Today, Devil’s Head offers two golf courses, 138 hotel rooms, more suites and condos, six dining options, a conference center and more chairlifts and ski runs. Art Johnson designed both courses, Glacier and Prairie Glen. Glacier navigates a maze of elevation changes with rugged features of rock out-croppings and water on seven holes. Prairie Glen offers its own challenges with island greens and plenty of water and traps.Facts

Island Green on #9 Photo submitted by zebra68 on 05/20/2014
Beautiful scenery
Great course. Priced reasonable. Had relatives from out of state, enjoyed course.
this course has some great features
This course has been one of our favorite courses that we have played at this year. Nicely kept, good greens, and nice people.
Good track
The design was creative and used the natural contours of the land well. The "Scottish fescue" was frustrating because it was often placed in play (areas of rewarding good play and instead penalizing the golfer).
Fun, "mountainous" course

Nice greens friendly staff
Pretty course, greens nice, staff was very friendly.
Beautiful and fun course
This course has a wide variety of hole types that are challenging yet manageable. It also has some breathtaking views from hole to hole.
Nice layout through the forest
Enjoyed the layout with many boulders used to define holes and greens. Recommend a cart as there are some long walks from green to next hole.
The greens were slow, but I plan to go back to see if that was an anomaly. Fairways were in good shape.
Very scenic.
Scenic course
Beautiful scenic hole. The last few holes were extremely s-l-o-w.
This course is a cow pasture.
Huge piles of LONG cut grass along fairways made it almost impossible to find your ball. Many bare spots on the fairways. Every water cooler on the course was empty. Even at $ 32.00 we felt cheated.
