Grand Geneva Resort & Spa
About Grand Geneva Resort & Spa
The Grand Geneva Resort & Spa is a sprawling 1,300-acre, AAA Four Diamond property, home to 355 rooms and 29 new villas. It's a four-season destination with the Mountain Top ski and snowboard facility and the 225-room Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark, an indoor-outdoor waterpark. Sandwiched between Milwaukee and Chicago, Grand Geneva invites city slickers to enjoy the laid-back lake life for a while. It started out as the Lake Geneva Playboy Club, part of Hugh Hefner’s empire. That chapter closed in 1981. Eventually, the property rebranded as a luxury golf resort in 1994 with fine dining and conference facilities for corporate clients. The Highlands and The Brute roll over hills and water hazards, creating distinct theaters for challenging and memorable golf. The WELL Spa + Salon, located in a separate fitness building, offers more than 65 treatments and services.Facts

Great course, can be tough for first timers.
Great venue, polite staff, new carts with GPS, free range to warmup. Starter was knowledgeable and informative. Interesting course with beautiful scenery, beverage cart made several passes. Pretty forgiving off the tee, a few forced carries, but pretty big elevation changes from tee to green can make it demanding (but beautiful) and club selection difficult. Better to be short than long on approaches, my playing partner had several balls roll off the back, and the links style setup doesn't stop them within 20 yards of the green. Greens were pretty simple, true rolling but not overly fast. I would rate this 5 stars if you aren't paying premium rates, which seem to vary by $30-$40 depending on what time you tee off. Great experience overall.
Very good course
Fantastic maintenance
Step is very kindly
Very peaceful. Enjoy
Great value
Fantastic course and combined with Golf Now fees as good as it gets. I thought the Brute was scenic, but the Highlands was even better. Great layout and superb conditions make Grand Geneva the best golfing option within 100 miles.
Never had a unpleasant day on either course.
If you treasure your golf, you have to go here !@
Excellent Experience
Great course and courteous staf. Challenging course For all levels of play. Greens and fairways were in excellent condition. Greens were fun. I found it difficult to determine breaks and had to walk around my line to ensure I had the right break. Lots of fun.
Great Course in excellent condition
I had played the Highlands many years ago and enjoyed it but didn't remember much. I thought the course was in excellent condition and the layout was great. . Staff that we met were great.. We'll be back for more rounds.
Great course
Would be difficult to find a better course for the money. Paid 40.00 with a Golfnow hot deal.
Great golf experience
Great first experience on near perfect condition course. Very hot day contributed to just an okay golf performance, but course is a lot of fun and very well maintained.
Top Notch Course
Course in great shape. Bunkers, greens , fairways, tee boxes all great. Staff is very accomodating. Our foursome needed 3 carts for social distancing. No problem.
Played from tips
Afternoon tee time. So hot. Greens hard and fast. Ready to play again.
nice day for golf
nice day for golf 90 degrees with a breeze. Course played nicely, course in nice condition greens a little fast
Fantastic
This course is the crown jewel of golf venues.
The course is immaculate and beautiful. The test is a great challenge of your golf ability. The staff and all on course attendants are thoughtful and considerate. This is without a doubt the premier facility for golfers in northern Illinois. I can't wait to get back out and play !!
Always a treat to play at Grand Geneva
This is my second time playing The Brute and it was just as magnificent as I remembered it. A very picturesque course that really gets you thinking on every shot. And once you get to the greens, it's a whole 'nother ball game. Very challenging. Great golf conditions. I wish more people would fix their ball marks on the greens! The putting surfaces were pretty pock marked by the afternoon. I fix a few every hole and like to think it's good Karma.
