The Golf Courses of Lawsonia

About The Golf Courses of Lawsonia
The Golf Courses of Lawsonia in Green Lake is one of Wisconsin’s greatest golf treasures. The Links is a classic inland links of blind shots, mounding and incredible hilly topography to challenge and engage the best of players. The newer Woodlands course delivers a contrasting viewpoint with tons of trees and more elevation changes. It’s a high-caliber 1-2 punch. Lawsonia offers three homes for onsite accommodations: The Moreau House with a single and double suite; the five-bedroom Birches House and the three-bedroom Dawson House. Langford’s Pub is located inside the clubhouse, featuring a Friday Fish Fry and Saturday Prime Rib specials.Facts

Terrific course! Easily among the best I've ever played!
Awesome course! Only issue was a twosome that decided they could jump ahead of our twosome and then hold us up on every hole!
Not what i thought
First, the guy checking us in was very rude and the set the tone for this course. didnt explain anything or where to go or even say thank you. Just a very rude welcome and not worth the time and money. def. not coming back
Bring your "A" game
Have always loved the Links course. Shots to the greens must be accurate or your next shot from left right or long will be very challenging. You need to be in proper position on green in relation to hole location or putting will be a major challenge. Green pace is usually fast.
Glad we came back
A few weeks ago we played Lawsonia woodlands, and were not treated very nice in the pro shop. (We could not tee off sooner then our appointed tee time, with the tee box wide open).I 'm happy to say this time we treated with much more respect.
I would like to thank the management for the change. The course was in very nice condition. The greens were healing nicely from the recent aeration. One of our favorite. courses. THANK YOU.
First Time....very enjoyable
After tackling the Links course in the morning we experienced the Woodlands course.....they had aerated the greens a week previous (I believe on 9/12) and had aerated the tee boxes earlier in the day we played. This is a very enjoyable somewhat tight wooded routing providing a real nice different look from the Links course morning round. Course was very playable but the greens were pretty sketchy from the recent aeration. Sand traps on this course also inconsistent. Nice views of Green Lake and a really nice pretty routing. Greens do have a lot of slope and look forward to visiting Lawsonia again when the greens are in good shape.....as I'll like to play this with better putting conditions. 3.9 stars....all due to greens/tees/trap condition the day we played......but a very enjoyable first time making me want to go back.
Old School at its very best
Links course is a 30's Langford/Moreau gem. Always a fun challenge and the architecture/green sites keep you thinking. Course was in excellent shape except the sand traps......if there was consistent sand in them this track would be 5 stars. Personally for me this is a bucket list course and one you shouldn't miss and visit......I've been fortunate to have experienced a lot of golf all over the states (public and private) and put this track as one of my top 10 favorites easily. 4.6 stars.
Thanks so much for your recommendation, glad you loved the Links course!
Bring Your Best Iron Game
We played both the Woodlands and Links on 9/19.
Links was in great shape, greens were firm and fast and every one was elevated - bring your best iron game, every approach needs to be well planned. Sand was in better shape here than on the Woodlands. We paid $100 to play all day and had a great time - we're already planning on a visit there same time next year.
Happy to hear you enjoyed your time with us and the conditions were on par, come back soon!
Beautiful and Challenging
Played both the Woodlands and Links on 9/19. They had aerated greens the week before and we're plugging the tee boxes, but were up front about it and played the course anyway. Beautiful views, challenging layout - we literally had the place to ourselves. Others' comments about the sand are accurate - I chose to pitch out of the mostly hard packed traps. But just beautiful and at $100 for all the golf we could play it was a great day.
Awesome to hear! We can't wait to see you back. Glad you saw good value playing here!
Played Links for 55 years
The course was in the best condition EVER! an absolute beautiful day and an amazing golf course. Want to go back soon!
We can't wait to have you back for more!
Top 100 golf course?
This course has a fantastic layout and flows nicely with many elevation changes. Shot values fantastic. The greens were well maintained and rolled nicely. But sand traps still need attention. They need sand and it's apparent they only get raked every now and again. The range was closed because the pickers broken. I think $50 is about what you should pay here. This course is in better shape of the two courses.
Good to hear you loved the layout and we will let our staff and crews know about the sand traps thanks for looking out!
Like Heaven
Course in great shape. Some nice upgrades were made to the back nine by clearing out some trees, giving the course a new refreshed looked. Not to mention the wildlife like a red fox and wild turkeys (of course whitetail deer too) that make Lawsonia a unique experience. A local gem not far from the Fox Valley metro area!
Thanks for noticing our improvements and happy to hear you loved the scenery!
A great track.
We enjoyed the golf course. Very unique, very, scenic, and challenging.
Practice range is not up to the standards of the rest of the experience. Practice green doesn't allow for flat putts. I would definitely recommend this golf course.
So glad you loved the challenge, thanks for the recommendation!
Great course
really enjoyed playing the course on a Sunday afternoon. There was some confusion about when we were to tee off. Once we got started the pace of play was fine. Took three others that had never played the course and all enjoyed the course.
Thanks for playing at our course, we're happy to hear you enjoyed your round once you got started!
Hidden gem in the middle of nowhere
Excellent course wth gorgeous, large greens. Putts roll true and fast. only negative would be a few blind tee shots.
Thanks so much for playing here we're glad you loved the greens!
Nice course, unfriendly staff
Staff did not offer any help or suggestions after checking in. Had to ask to get a cart from the cart boys. Course was very nice and had some nice features, very deep bunkers on the fairway as well as all around most holes that were mostly built up about 5-10 feet higher than the fairway.
We'll let our staff know, thanks for looking out. Glad you loved the course features!
Don't get there early
We got to the course about 30 minutes early, (Mike) in the pro shop said because we used Golf Now we could not tee off till our tee time. There was nobody on the tee box for over 30 minutes or more. He also said if we pay the normal rate we could then tee off early. I realize that Golf Now states the tee time is only good at the booked time, but we have never had this kind of treatment any place before. He made it clear that he did not like the great deal we got from Golf Now.
Whenever we use Golf Now we try to have a few drinks and food at the course, but in this case we just went elsewhere. Love the course.
Thanks for playing here, we regret to hear there was some complications upon checking in at the course. We will let our staff know and ensure your next round is enjoyable as can be. Come back and see us!
Just as good if not better than the Links
Buddy and I played both on one day. Woodlands were our 2nd 18 and it left a great taste in our mouth. Course is well designed and cuts nicely through the woods. Its also great to go to courses where both golf courses are exactly the same in green speed, fairways and rough length. Par 3rd is a really cool hole. Love playing par 3s that dont have to be long but are still challenging. This course and the whole complex does a great job of having great golf at a good price and its not hoity toity. Its a nice relaxing place with great golf. Well done.
Thanks so much for playing at our course, we're happy to hear you enjoyed the layout and had a great round!
Big mounds and Undulating Greens WOW!!
Buddy and I played 36 at Lawsonia. First 18 was on the Links and it lived up to alot of expectations. For the 85th public course I was pretty impressed. Greens were that perfect condition that you expect when you go to a top 100 course. They really pride themselves on the undulating greens and the big mounds. I had one lie at the base of the mound and the mound was probably 8 feet high. Green side bunkers you better be able to get the ball up in the air quickly. They do a nice job as a links course of providing you those great view of most of the property. Is this a top 100 public course...I am not sure but it is definitely right up and one you need to cross off the bucket list.
Awesome! So glad you had a wonderful round and you could cross it off your bucket list. See you soon!
Beautiful Course
A great challenging course, Worth the Drive !!!
Thanks for making the drive out! We can't wait to see you again!
outstanding
Terrific course in great shape and fantastic setting.
