Michaela Arzola | Austin Country Club

Native Texan who grew up in the panhandle with a culinary sweet tooth

Chef Arzola is a native Texan who grew up in the Panhandle; she began the pursuit of her culinary career at an early age, taking her first cake decorating class at the age of ten. To further her passion, she moved to Austin Texas and graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Le Cordon Bleu Texas Culinary Academy with a Certificate in Patisserie and Baking in 2008.

Chef Arzola began her professional baking career at local staple, Kerbey Lane Cafe Bakery, gaining knowledge using local, fresh, and organic ingredients. There she gained a passion for high volume desserts made from scratch. After working for Kerbey Lane, Chef Arzola was Bakery Manager and Head Cake Decorator of Sandra Bullock's two local Austin restaurants - Bess Bistro and Walton's Fancy and Staple. She then moved on to hone her wedding cake decorating skills, working under Michelle Powers of local specialty wedding cake shop, Michelle's Patisserie. Prior to her work with the Austin Country Club, Chef Arzola worked as Pastry Chef for Green Pastures Restaurant; creating wedding cakes, fresh bread, dynamic desserts, and special occasion cakes.

Chef Arzola has a passion for continuing education, which has enriched her skills in many ways. In the past few years she has trained under 2017 Meilleur Ouvrier de France winner, Chef Jonathan Mougel at the French Pastry School, as well as in New York with Brazilian Pastry Chef Diego Lozano.

Chef Arzola is dedicated to the overall satisfaction of the client, and strives to create desserts that will not only look beautiful and taste amazing, but also leave a lasting impression. Chef Arzola lives in East Austin with her fiancé and their cat.
