The Running Y Ranch Golf Course
About
Running Y Resort sits just across the California border, surrounded by the beauty of the Cascade Mountains. The challenging golf course was designed by Arnold Palmer and has been ranked as one of the top 100 public courses in the country as well as one of Oregon's best. When asked to pick some of his favorite designs, Running Y made the list. The golf course takes advantage of all the beauty of southern Oregon, preserving the landscape with such care that is was certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. The layout features Palmer's signature fairways that are both curvy and receptive. The front nine wraps around Klamath Lakes and plays through dense woodlands while the back nine crisscrosses through Payne Canyon. The final holes are also laced with Scottish-style mounding and a few water hazards.

Beautiful course
Really enjoyed the course challenging but not overly difficult.
Gift Certiifcate
Staff didn’t know how to apply the gift certificate…they said is was not applied so I had to pay cash…I think I ended up paying the $100 gift certificate on li e and an additional $80 cash at the course…got just 9 holes!! Not impressed with how it works with the gift certificate…
Summer at Running Y
Have always enjoyed playing this great course and this time is no different. Course is in excellent shape within greens running around 10. I love the tee box set up here. The Umbrella (front) tees make it very enjoyable for women & shorter hitting players. They give those players an honest chance of making the green in regulation. It also helps keeps the pace of play up.
We played 2 days on this trip & enjoyed perfect weather & course conditions.
Hidden gem
This is a great golf course and reasonably priced. Challenging but fair. Greens and fairways are in pristine condition, especially given the challenge of hot and dry weather. The greens crew deserve some kudos, very impressed!!!!
Great Course
I played here on consecutive days (79/73). The difference was on day two, I hit a few lucky shots and I adapted to the greens. It's a course that makes you use a variety of shots. The greens roll very nicely, but might be a little tricky the first time around. There was hardly anyone on the course (Monday and Tuesday around noon). The weather was perfect and the folks in the pro shop were very friendly. I would recommend this course to anyone. Great bang for the buck.
