Cow pasture
The course layout is good but the do not water the fairways or tee boxes. Dry as a bone (August). Fairways are so pot holed you need a 4 wheel drive cart to prevent a herniated disc. Could be a great course if they would start filling in the Fairways and water. But, for $30 I guess I got m money's worth.
Plays harder than it looks.
Highlands was a fun,, challenging course. Lots of hills and valleys. I watched the aerial view of the course and it looked significantly easier than it actually was. Some of the tee boxes needed some work and the greens went from small to huge with significant undulations on all of them. The clubhouse manager was friendly and helpful. overall, A very satisfying experience.
Comfortable
My home course. The greens are in fabulous condition this year. Nice people, and comfortable place to get down to business and golf.
Don't book though GolfNow
Several concerns, fairways are not in good shape & the greens are a little "shaggy". Booked through GolfNow and paid $50. If I'd booked directly with the course I would have paid a little more than $35.
Local Muni
Greens were in decent shape, a little bumpy. Fairways were more like a field but cut down.. Rough was tough with yellow and white wild flowers and thick. Bring plenty of balls for this course.
First Timer at Highland GC
My 2 sons and I played 18 at Highland Golf Course in Cosmopolis, WA. Our tee time was at 11:20 am and we went off on time. Most people use carts, but we chose to walk the round. There was a few people using the driving range and a few groups heading out on to the Course. The pro shop was well-stocked with golf equipment and accessories. They had a good assortment of cold beverages, but we can't comment on the food since we didn't eat at the Course.
The course was in good shape with regard to maintenance, although many fairways had patches of long grass or clippings of grass that keep balls from rolling out or, in some cases swallowed up a well placed drive resulting in a lost ball. Pace of play was excellent and we didn't see another golfer on the back nine as each hole is lined by dense forest on all sides. Many tee boxes were pretty dry and lacked grass.
We had a good round and we're happy with the course based on the green fees we paid.
Highlands cosmopolis
The course is on the side of mountains wich creates great layout.no drink cart,NO DRINK CART.no food but hotdogs.But great value and good layout
Amazing Golf Course
We arrived at the course on an early Sunday Morning. The course was absolutely beautiful. We had a 3 person group, myself and 2 other friends, and the staff that was there went above and beyond what was expected. The manager was incredibly helpful and made the experience that much more enjoyable. We had a fantastic time at this golf course and I highly recommend everyone to come check it out.
Fun course
Nice local municipal course.
Definitely worth the money!
Grand Old Course in Sad Shape
Nice layout, but not a speck of green anywhere on the fairways except for weeds. This course needs management and/or money in the worst way. Kinda sad.
Fun course. Wish it was in better shape.
Fun course layout with the some challenging holes. Unfortunately, some of the greens and even a couple fairways are in pretty rough shape. Played midweek and it was pretty empty. Staff was friendly.
Still The Best!!!
Highland Golf Course in Aberdeen, continues to set the standard as the premier golf destination in the harbor. This course is a hidden gem that blends challenging play with breathtaking views. The fairways and greens are always well-maintained, showcasing the dedication of the grounds crew. The layout is diverse, offering something for every level of golfer, from beginners to seasoned players.
What really sets Highland apart is the atmosphere. The staff and fellow golfers alike create an environment that’s both friendly and respectful, making every visit enjoyable. Whether you’re there for a casual round or an organized event, you’re guaranteed to feel welcomed.
If you’re looking for a place to sharpen your game or simply enjoy a day outdoors surrounded by natural beauty, Highland Golf Course should be at the top of your list. It’s truly the best course in the harbor!
This course has seen better days…
Last year I remember playing here and loving the challenge; sloped fairways and elevated greens gave it a certain appeal. When I came back this year, I was wildly disappointed:
Tee boxes were chewed up grass and gravel;
Cart path was more of a washed out rut than an actual path;
Greens were 50% dead grass, 50% dirt.
The course layout gets confusing between 5 and 8; all these fairways parallel and loop around each other, so it’s easy to get mixed up with no clear direction.
I can’t in good conscience recommend this course to any one, especially not at $50-$70 per round.
