Nice little course!
First time playing this course. I'll get the downsides out of the way, first. It was extremely hot and humid. Second, the greens were aerated and sanded. Lastly, the course needs to have better signage with in it. It was hard to know if you were going to correct next hole. That should be an easy fix. The fairways and light rough were in great shape. 16-17-18 are 3 really interesting finishing holes. 16 has water running down almost the entire left side of it. 17, while a relatively short par 4, is a real challenge in that it's a sharp dog left and up a steep hill to the green. On 18, if you don't get it up to the top of the hill, you won't see the pond on the left that comes into play on the second shot. The course has a beautiful clubhouse. All in all, it was an enjoyable round, a nice course, and I'll drive another hour and a half to play it again.
Toooooo much sand!!
I understand that you are aerating the greens. I understand that sand is good for them (in moderation I might add). But it was way too much sand on there. It had not been leveled out. it was bumpy. Some areas had a ton. Other areas had almost none. At times it was literally like putting on a beach. There was nothing green showing. It was all sand and it wasn’t even level sand. It’s impossible to put on that. I understand you have to do things to keep things healthy and looking good but somebody is way overdoing it. It literally ruined the round for me.
Busted windshield during round
I would uber if I ever played theee again or park on the far left side. Middle and right is not safe and course doesn't care.
Pleasant Surprise
I look forward to my next round here when back in Memphis! The Staff was great, the course layout was challenging and the greens are private country club worthy! Fast, rolled true even though top dressed. I have a feeling they'll be rolling around 11-13 if they cut and roll in the next couple of weeks. This course is a hidden gem and If I lived in the area, I would play it a lot.
Really fun course
This course has really fun and challenging holes. The grass is really good and you almost never get a bad lie,
Great course!
Play this course often and all seasons they do a great job with Maintence and staff is always great!
Careful on the Front Nine
Greens were in excellent shape. Lots of gorges, especially on the front nine. They weren't always visible to a first timer. I lost a number of balls on what appeared at first to be excellent shots. First timer might also find it difficult to navigate the front nine. Several severe dog legs had me chasing my tail trying to find my way around.
Tough
It’s a difficult course to review because it’s a difficult course to play. If you are somebody that doesn’t hit the ball straight you are going to lose balls and struggle. This course has streams, woods, water features, kudzu everywhere, and narrow fairways in a lot of places. So if you’re slicing or hooking you’re going to get frustrated and lose balls. I would recommend this chorus but to someone that is a little more advanced.
Great course
Love Wedgewood!! The course is in very good condition, good fairways and soft greens. It is tight so do bring your driver that hits really straight 😊
Started this year
I love the laid back feel and well kept grounds. People are very nice too.
Home cooking
From the last time I played Wedgewood, it has definitely been tended to a lot better than it was before. The greens were great the fairways were well cut and the rough was manageable. Still got loose grass here and there, but not as bad as it was before. It was a very eye-opening experience this time around, thank you for improving of the facility.
How does this compare to Cherokee valley.
