Great course but sometimes the booking times can get backed up but overall everyone is great and friendly and this is still one of my favorite courses. We teamed up with randoms last time and it worked out well still a great course with good prices
Beautiful Course with a Few Challenges
Walked the Front 9.
Such a beautiful to walk. Wish I had time to walk the whole 18.
The amenities were great and the concessions were not pricey. Will definitely be back when I catch another great deal.
Needs help!
We’ve had a hard summer with high temperatures and very little rain, so I expected the course to have been affected. But, not to the extent that it has been.
First the good - pro shop staff is friendly and welcoming; most of the greens are in good condition and the pace of play was good (likely due to low turnout). Here’s the bad - entire fairways, or at least a majority of the, are just bare dirt; tee boxes range from just ok to poor. The 16th hole is just a major mess and needs a complete makeover.
I caught a GN Hotdeal for $30, but that was too much for a course in this condition.
Crash course!
My Wife and I decided to take the opportunity to go out in this beautiful weather and play 18 at Timbertruss.
This course plays great, open fairways, decent greens, plenty of hazards that are not to difficult to avoid.
The true hazards to avoid are sadly all over the fairways on this course. Holes are everywhere, not flagged off or marked making it very dangerous to walk the course without breaking your ankle.. in fact I rolled mine on the 14th walking up to the green.. this was after my wife and I witnessed a gentleman crash into a large unmarked hole. We ran over to assist, he was not moving, he hit his chest hard on the steering wheel. We got him unstuck and he left for the day.. I feel this could easily been avoided by marking off with flags...Also fix your tee boxes show them some love too, because that's the only 2 flaws I found in this beautiful course.. overall a great place to play just a few big flaws..
They've given up
Greens were nice. Horrible fairways, tee boxes, everything else. Worst shape it's ever been in and I've played it off and on for 30 years. Not worth the trip - go somewhere else until they improve it. They also need a starter and a marshall on the course. We got stacked up three groups deep behind a threesome that was slow and did not let anyone play through.
Solid local course
This course is pretty short, but fair. We, unfortunately, had some slower groups in front of us. The greens are firm, but you can hold a wedge. However, it is challenging and requires precision off the tee with some tee shots. You can get by with errant shots on some holes as it's a short course. Golf has seen increasing prices since COVID. I thought $75 was a little too high for the course, but it's what golf has become.
Nice
I was really impressed with the course. Was better than expected. Greens were great!
Over growth
This course was not well manicured! Too much overgrowth and not well drained! If you didn’t land in the fairway along the first growth your ball was lost!
Rake the Yard!
This is one of the few golf courses that I've played here in the Tri-State area that has a lot of green grass for this time of the year. The rough on this course is no joke! But it's bad when the rough is thick and you have uncut grass to go with it. Retrieving your ball is a search of a different kind. If you want to score well the fairways will be your friend. No card girl but restrooms are available on the course. Will definitely play again, but do your homework before playing the 1st time....
Great Course, Slow Play
Paid $32 under a hot deal on a Tuesday. The value for the quality of course is very good and way better than local muni courses in Memphis. All the fairways/greens were in good shape and healthy. There is not a lot of bunkers on the course but about 50% of them were in good condition and the others I would just drop your ball out since its like caked clay in there.
My biggest issue was I tee'd off at 1:45pm and did not finish 18 holes until 6pm due to playing behind two back to back groups of geriatric 4 somes. The management does not allow groups to start on both #1 and #10 so it ended up being a line of several groups playing behind these old folks and no one could play through. On the back 9, consecutive holes had 3 different groups waiting to tee off. This course should get a starter and allow people to start on both the front/back 9's.
The course does have a driving range but the prices are a bit steep ($9 for a small bucket) and there is not easy way to access it from their GPS carts so I had to park by the #1 teebox and walk my bag across the street to hit at the range.
$75 for what?
I’ve played here a few times now on the weekends. Usually, I wouldn’t post a review, but yesterday was atrocious. $75 for a round at this course is absurd! I’d say at least half of the course was under water, tee boxes were in horrible conditions, cart paths are not up to par for again, a $75 per round course. This course on a weekend should be MAYBE $50 and that’s being generous. If you’re going to charge that much for a round, with plenty of other options available around the Memphis area, you better be putting that money to good use. I won’t be back.
Not worth 50 bucks a round
I’ve been coming to play here for years and it has always been affordable but charging 50 bucks for greens that are bumpy at best is ridiculous. People smoking pot on the golf course and no Marshall in sight. I saw kids wearing sweatpants and wife beaters playing . Kids are working the counters and if you wanna hit on their trackman they are gonna charge you 40 bucks an hour. This is a 30 dollar golf course at best. The average price for a round in 2024 was 43 dollars so they think they are above average come on guys.
Winter Golf
First round of golf this year. Course was wet in some areas as you would expect. Greens were in really great shape and fast for this time of the year. Overall very surprised how well the course was.
Great course for price
Friendly staff good condition carts with overhead monitor that provides yardages and hole layouts price is fair
Greens were great, love the layout. Fairways need some rest. Staff is very friendly
