Troy Burne Golf Club in Hudson is characterized by the abundance of sand. An astounding 120 sand bunkers are strategically placed throughout. It is a challenging and scenic course that is one of the best in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area but it is not a course for beginners. In addition to the bunkers, golfers will also be faced with plenty of water protecting the dramatically undulating greens. The slopes and contours make a one-putt nearly impossible. The intimidating approach shots are just as tough as they look too. The front nine has its challenges no doubt but if you can believe, it gets even harder on the back nine. One of Troy Burne Golf Club's most memorable holes is the 12th, a short, risky par 5. Unless playing into the wind, it plays shorter than the indicated yardage. There is water on the left that leads to a massive and wildly sloped green.
