Colts Neck Golf Club
About
Colts Neck Golf Club is one of central New Jersey's most popular courses. The diverse course offers everything from Scottish-style bunkers to sparkling lakes. Tall golden fescue rough borders the fairways and the greens are large and undulating. The course is seemingly short at only 6,236 yards but it shouldn't be taken lightly. It's much more challenging than it appears. The layout finishes with two of its toughest holes. The 17th has a tough green fiercely guarded by out-of-bounds and the course saved the most difficult hole for last. This par 3 will test even the most seasoned golfers. In addition to the golf course, Colts Neck also has a 25-station driving range that stays open late. It's a great spot for getting in some practice after work.

Great track.
Course was in great condition. Greens were true and very fast. Got held up a bit by some slow golfers but other than that I had a blast!
Greens are too fast
The greens were too fast. I like quick greens but these were annoyingly quick. The greens are too small for them to be that quick. It was almost impossible to hold any shot on them anywhere other than where the balls collect.
Good round in the rain
Played in slight rain the other day. Caught a hit deal on Golfnow for 60.00 so it was well worth it. Course was in great shape
It’s ok
It’s an ok course. Layout is good, course is pretty easy. Has definitely went downhill over the past few years. Greens are in terrible condition, tee boxes need work and most of the staff don’t care at all. For the price they charge, it isn’t worth it.
Terrible greens
Every green was in atrocious shape. Way to expensive to play under those conditions
Solid for a Thursday Afternoon
Got out to CNGC for a Thursday afternoon hot deal. It was my first time playing the course in about 4 years. Since the last time I played they have upgraded the 12th hole from what was previously an unpopular long par 3 to a manageable par 4.
Course conditions were good for late April. The greens are spotty with what appear to be multiple species of grass, but that impact is cosmetic and had minimal, if any, impact on roll.
Overall the course was well maintained and pace of play was never an issue at 4 hours for 18.
While it is not my favorite track in Monmouth county and I wouldn't recommend splurging $100+ for a weekend tee time, it's a very solid choice.
There was no cart girl so off course amenities 3 out of 5.
New Ranger needs a new job
New ranger was rude and obnoxious. Clueless on what he was doing. Sent out 2 groups of walkers that were late and response was if you don’t like it play some where else. That’s Excatly what I plan on doing.
Needs TLC
Greens were in horrible condition. Large patches of burnt out grass everywhere. Most trees taken down. Seems like it’s being cleared for housing project.
No Starter, No Rangers
Pace was absolutely brutal. There was no starter which kicked things off with us starting 0 minutes behind pace of play. We saw people looking for balls in the cut down grass on 16. An all you can eat buffet of breakfast balls from the twosome in front of us, and a solo who refused to joi. The duo in front of him or let us play with. There was als no sign of a cart person for water, Gatorade or snacks.
After my last outing and having the greens that looked like shag carpets my buddy wanted to give it another go based on proximity. But the reality is for the price this is no longer a value with the county systems being much more on top of their game.
