Greens are in good shape. The fairways arw getting much better. Several tee boxes could use some grass seed!! Pretty barren. The cart paths are pretty rough from all the hard winters. All the bad aside,....it is a GOOD course. Wide undulating fairways make a good drive important less you wind up in a sand trap, or in the bushes. The views are fantastic! You have mountains to the north, south, and west! Late.afternoon thunderstorms are not uncommon. The local wildlife keep it fun. A small herd of pronghorns make the course their home. Be kind and play around them. Local bird life is varied and pretty. I even encountered a bear cub last week. Turkey will come out to the fairways and greens for a bite to eat as well. A really fun course.

Gary Player designed course at a bargain price in my opinion. New management really cares about improving the course and it shows. Droughts conditions make it tough for any course to have everything green but they do a good job here. It’s a links course in the desert with lots of grass, maybe too much. They could save water by introducing more desert into the fairways but this is a course everyone can play. Helps if you can hit a long ball. The elevated tees from the tips are amazing and fun. Not busy when we played and finished in about 4 hours.

I’ve played Sumo maybe a dozen times over the last 15 years and this is some of the better conditions I’ve seen. If you played a few years ago and it was crap give it another try. Hopefully you have as much fun as we did.

I love Sumo! The course layout is nice, the staff are excellent, the course is in amazing shape given the drought, pace of play is better than average and the views are spectacular. If you are looking for a course that is comfortable and scenic, try Sumo!

The course was fun to play. It was in pretty decent shape except for the 1st fairway. Definitely worth playing, especially for the price.

Tee boxes need work. Greens in great shape. Carts being replaced with yamaha electrics. Looking forward to my next round.

A long course that has rolling fairways. Makes driver placement important to stay out of the "ditch". Greens are in good shape are pretty deceptive. They are on the smaller side. This require good wedge shots as sand bunkers are around most greens. The fairways are good for 5he most part. There are some dry areas but to be expected based on the lack of moisture this year. So

Not busy! Wide faiways are forgiving. Small greens and sand traps make it challenging. Rolling fairways make driver placement critical. I love the place. Designed for big hitters and accurate wedge play.

I have played the course six times this spring and summer. The ground crew continues to make improvements to the tee boxes. The greens are in great shape, fairways are hit and miss with lots of hard dry areas, and the bunkers are very hard with some weeds. The course has great mountain visas with lots of elevated tees and side sloping fairways. It is great fun to play with lots of potential for improvement. L

Couple of tee boxes need some help. Fairways are in really good condition. Greens are watered and soft enough to leave a good divot to repair. They have cleaned out most of the sand traps, and they offer a very challenging hazard on several holes. The rolling fairways make a flat lie pretty challenging. The course is a long one that is favorable to the good drivers and fairway woods. The par fours are long enough you can not drive them, bit short enough to make a second shot to the green critical to make par. The par threes are longer than average. Sand bunkers close to the greens on both sides will make an accurate tee box shot mandatory. A fun course. The local wildlife and views of the mountains make for a splended backdrop! The tee times are budget friendly!!

Haven’t played her in a while. Still a good place to play. The course it lacking water but the greens at very soft. With all the rain in the area lately it’s holding up well. I will continue to play this course. It’s needing some water and some upkeep but the layout is awesome and of course with the lack of people playing it, the pace of play was perfect!! Let’s help this place servive, it can be a great place with a little help. Still in playable condition. Shot an 81 from the tips. Need to hit more greens!

Awesome staff, nice pace of play, greens that are still very green given the drought and laid back atmosphere.

Recent rains has really helped the course. Fairways are greener, and softer. The course is a long one that favors long drivers. The greens are realatively small with respect to the length of most 9f the holes. This makes it important for accurate wedge shots. The greens are in good shape with very deceptive breaks, making it more challenging. The tee box conditions have improved due to the recent rain. For the money,

Staff are not friendly, and lack common sense but where else are you gonna play? So I guess we’re stuck and we’ll deal with it.

Even considering the drought,.... the course is still in pretty decent shape. Some of the tee boxes could have some grass seed rakes in to make them more even and thicker. The fairways are dryer than normal bit still hittable. The greens are well watered and fine. The greens are.very deceptive with reading the breaks. The views are great. The cart.paths are rough and kind of beat you up as you drive around. For the money,.... a GREAT AND FUN COURSE!!

Rolling fairways require a pretty straight tee shot. The surrounding mountains are just gorgeous to see. A plus are the local pronghorn herd 5hat wander the course.
