Still the best
Always play this magnificent course from the back tees. The conditions were not as optimal as last year. On one of the back tees, shrouded in shade, the grass was all dead. The fairways had not been mown. I want to chalk all this up to the lack of rain, but I'm concerned about the sustainability of this gem, so huge, so expensive to maintain, but never busy. Are all the long carries keeping high handicappers away? Management needs to get busy advertising. Why isn't this amazing golf course jam packed every day?
Course review
Course was in great condition. The only problem I had is the sprinklers were going off in the morning when I was playing. But he had to water sometime. I played by myself in the pace of play was great two people in front of me that did not hold me up. I was able to play two balls if I wanted. It was a little pricey, but not too bad. Would recommend this course to others.
Nice course. VERY Pricey!!
It is a nice course, and has some great holes, the problem is price. Its not a PGA course and doesn't host any amateur tournerments. And the price should refect that, and be comparable to the other nice courses in the area. Even the range fees are outrageous.
The pace of play is great because it is always dead. I have played there 6 times the last 2 years and never seen more than 2 or 3 other people on the course. I'd love to play here more, its 3 miles from where I live, but if it wasn't for the discounts I find on Golfnow, I'd never play here, Its a shame too, because it is a fun course.
First time
Found this course to be in great condition. Practice facility was excellent! Loved it. 77.00 per round is a little pricey but the course was fantastic!!
5 1/2 Hours
I enjoy this course but we had a 9:04 tee time, which was delayed about 15 minutes for weather, which is fine, but we waited every shot. This course has some long drives between holes, so 4 1/2 hours is probably average but 5 1/2 is too long.
Excellent course & Hot Deal price!
The Grande was outstanding as usual. Great pace (we played it in a little over three hours). A great layout & overall beautiful course.
I'll Be Back
I live out of state and found this course online. I felt like a road trip and this course was worth it. I plan to return. I played in October and the weather was great, around 70 degrees and relatively calm winds. The course was in great condition and I saw only a few others on the course. There's not much in the pro shop, but the guys I talked to before and after my round were great. Bang for the buck, this is an outstanding deal. I'm hoping to bring a few friends when I next play there.
Grander than the last year
It is clear that the grounds crew is working this place back into shape from last year. It is still not what it once was 7 years ago. They eliminated many sand traps over the last few years. Then, I'm sure based on recent storms, removed many trees this year compared to last year. I would say it made the course easier, but allowed the grass on the greens and fairway to grow better. Overall conditions have improved. It is fun course. Not the best value, but one that you won't regret going to once a year.
Top five best in southern Michigan
Absolutely beautiful, challenging, and in excellent condition.
Up North Golf Experience
Loved it and didn't have to drive 4 + hours up North!
Grande golf course is a pleasant and fun course to play!
Grande course gives the feeling of playing northern Michigan courses. Great views, layout and conditions! I would definitely be going back to this course.
Great venue, great views, great conditions.
Outstanding round, pace of play was as fast or as slow as we wished it to be. Basically, had the course to ourselves. When I asked about lack of business, they said, Monday afternoons are usually slow. Hadn’t played course since Covid and they had removed many trees which gave course a more open feel. Highly recommend this course to anyone who loves golf!
