Great Houston Area course (Conroe)
I found this course back in March and have played it a handful of times. The new owners have turned this course into something great. I love the layout. The bunkers (fairway and greenside) are really good. I have twice hit great shots from 130+ yards from bunkers. Good bunkers are a sign that a course cares about details. Course conditions are still a work in progress, which is why I gave it 4 stars, but you can tell they are working on making this a top course. They have new tee boxes on a few holes now. They are working on others. Greens are in nice shape and roll well. 18 is a perfect finishing hole. A good drive sets up a nice risk reward option on a par 5. The staff is really kind. I went out on a Tuesday. I went off at 10:35 and didn’t see another group until hole 12. A lot of people had gone off in the morning (full parking lot), but they kept up pace.
They have nice chipping and putting area. And good range. I just wish I lived closer to this course.
Nice course, a hidden gem
Course is in mid summer shape. Good condition, fast greens, clean, well kept, friendly staff and players. Will be playing here again.
Beautiful Course in good shape!
I really enjoyed my round at The Links. Conditions were excellent and because I was playing middle of day, the course was empty. There are a few rough edges but it's a beautiful layout with a nice mixture of challenging and not so challenging holes. I'll be back!
Great Layout
This course has a nice mix of holes. Such a relief to see condition getting better and better. I didn't think it would have survived. West Fork staff keep up the good work!
First timer awesome course
First timer what a beautiful course Serene and quiet extremely friendly staff and golfers everyone was over the top and wonderful gentleman. I felt the pace was a little fast but again I'm a rookie I was shanking it everywhere LOL
I would think this is an intermediate course except for the 18th hole it was a little harder in my opinion.
I’m Thankful I came back !!
I haven’t been to West Fork in years . Thankfully after hearing good things from many different golfers about the improvements the New Owners have made I gave it another try . Every thing I’ve heard is right . New carts , improved course , and great Customer Service . I will definitely be back . I can see more improvements in progress so the new owner is on track to make West Fork a great course for the North side again . I will selfishly ask for one change on 18 though. Reduce the waste area on 18 to help us 70 year old golfers clear the waste area on our second shot . Thanks Will Mattern
Continues to get better
My second time on the course since new ownership took over and I am impressed with the updates and changes they have made to this place. What a turnaround its made. Only small complaint would be a few thin tee boxes but see where they have made improvements to other ones. Greens a good , putt smooth and hold a shot. The fairways are excellent and the new carts are a pleasure to drive. It just shows what a little money and a little pride can do to a course. Kudos to the staff and new owners.
Deep pine forest & lake
Quiet & smooth course
Improved course but staff still same unfriendly
The staff does not follow tee times reserved and not professional from checking in and to starting tee- and applies cart sharing rules on the fly which could be acceptable on full schedule but not on very open schedule which provides enough carts. Will not come back to play here.
Great layout in good condition, friendly staff.
I really like playing here. The course is in very nice shape, with only a few scruffy tees. The layout is very nice, winding through the trees. The greens are in great shape. The course is challenging but not too much. It’s worth the 50 minute drive to get here.
