The Links of Madison County Golf & Country Club

If you’re using this app or site you probably didn’t pay $40-60$ to play here. Using a hot deal it was $20 for a cart and 9. This isn’t Old Waverly or Reunion, it’s an apartment complex with a 9 hole course basically in the middle of nowhere Madison County, expecting this to be some quiet, pristine, FULL amenities course…need not book. Yes there arent enough carts, yes pace of play is either WAAAY too slow…or some guy, or even maintenance is up your ssa, causing you to feel rushed…. But if you can remain calm, remember that you paid $20 for a cart and 9… this is a very enjoyable little course. Food is awesome, AC works good inside, and 98% of the time staff is super friendly and will be helpful with anything you can ask of them. Course has challenges, but you can actually score a few birdies with any type of level playing. So buck up, you got to play golf for a rate, be grateful and adjust those expectations when pulling in because this AINT Augusta National so don’t bring that Augusta National attitude to this place and have some fun.

This course is cheap but expect no marshalling, slow play and lots of "new" gilfers.

I usually enjoy this course, however due to the constant presence and disturbances from the maintenance guy using the flat bed equipped John Deer I will not be returning. I had to deal with him on 7 out of 9 holes.

Hole:

1. He passes me in the fairway, so I wait for to him go by.

2. He is on the green blowing it off so I can't hit my approach.

3. He pulls up to me on the teebox.

4. He pulls up to me on the teebox.

7. He pulls up on me, AGAIN, on the teebox.

8. He beats me to the green so he can step on it once or twice, preventing me from approaching.

9. He beats me, again, to the green and is blowing if off, and not for a short amount of time, so now I could care less if he gets hit.

Starting on hole 2 I am unconsciously making myself stay focused. Im a patient, focused guy consistently in the 80s so I think Im good and I shouldn't have to deal with him again. By hole 7 I am annoyed and wondering how he keeps showing up on my holes, but I still think he is doing his job. Hole 8 I am now upset and really wondering what this guy is doing and why is I am having to deal with him on so many holes. On hole 9 Im convinced that he is doing this intentionally and on my way to the green I stop at clubhouse to complain.

Dealing with him on, maybe, 3 holes is just me staying focused, but 7 holes is not the type of experience I am paying for.

I do not think I can take a chance on the course being crowed, waiting for a cart and having to play almost all of my holes with the maintenance guy popping up on me and/ or being on the green while I am approaching.

The course is in good shape and well maintained. The course has good drainage. The clubhouse staff is friendly and serviceable. The practice amenities are good when the range has balls to offer. There are only a few carts and this will impact the pace of play. The course gets crowed. To combat this I chose to tee off before 9 am. This would have worked out fine for me if not for the maintenance guy following me around the course.

Not a bad 9 honestly but for the price you can go to Pete brown and play a full 18. Course wasn’t in rough condition but greens were slow and a little dry. But for convenience, again; cannot complain about much other than the full course price for this 9hole links.

Start with the good! Friendly staff! Nice facilities. The course is average and short but fun for the money. Now for the bad… Sometimes there is a cart wait which can be a little frustrating at times, but if you show up early it’s usually fine. Greens are soft but cut is lengthy on them and the grain is loose. The course holds water and some places are standing water in fairways. Tee boxes need work and so do the bunkers. The maintenance staff is always working but the course could use a lil tlc beyond what they are already doing.

You won’t find a better deal around! Very nice course!

Overall, I enjoy the course. I think you need to post, “let fast players through when holes are opening front you.” I had not played in 7 to 10 years ago at this location. Greens were tall

Staff was very friendly and gracious.

Add another 9 holes and it would be perfect!

Staff was extremely Friendly. Course was in excellent shape. I couldn’t complain about anything except my tee time was 11:00 am and had to wait 20 min for an available cart. No big deal though.

I have made 3 separate reservations for a tee time with a golf cart. All 3 times they have been out of golf carts and “would put me on a list to wait for one bc they do not know when another to be available.” They have told me that making a reservation just lets them know about when someone is showing up but doesn’t guarantee a cart
