About
In 1951, Lakeside was born when a group of prominent Houston businessmen bought this area west of town known as Pine Lakes Farms. Ralph Plummer came in and designed the layout, which was modernized by Ron Pritchard in 1990. Pritchard added new grass and some mounding to the flat layout but kept Plummer's traditional design.
Two par 5s stand out-the almost 600 yard par 5 hole 3 with its L-shaped green, and the 503-yard 18th, which requires a tough tee shot and an approach over water. No. 3 goes well with the four 400-yard plus par 4s on the front.
Getting there : From Beltway south, take I-10 west and exit Wilcrest Dr. Turn left, drive a short distance to the course, and look for the entrance on the right side of the street.
