Whispering Pines Golf Club - The Needler Course

Designed by Chet Williams, who designed the original course at Whispering Pines Golf Club, The Needler is a short course with multiple tees, hazards, elevated greens and plenty of options. Though the course has no official par, it's really a par 28 with eight holes of par-3 length, and the fourth, at 308 yards, a drivable par 4. The golf course, which opened in the spring of 2013, was built to complement the existing regulation course, which is ranked no. 1 in the state by the Dallas Morning News. The philanthropic private club, located about 90 minutes north of Houston, plays host to the biennial Spirit of Golf world amateur competition.
