We had a foursome and played a well laid out course that was challenging and also fun afterwards we went to the restaurant for dinner and we all agreed that the food was excellent and the cost was very reasonable great job Dunegrass hold your heads high great job

Place is pretty quirky, target golf for sure. The narrow course weaves around a planned community, but the golf was clearly an after thought with long connections between many holes and it is sometimes unclear where to find the next tee. The course is fairly ugly with prominent power lines, housing construction, and just a general lack of polish to it. The bunkers are basically clay, but the greens were in decent shape and rolled well. All of this could have been forgiven it wasn't so overpriced, $89 to ride. When I saw the price on the website I figured I was in for a decent round of a golf, but was very disappointed.

If you do decide to head out there bring a lot of bug spray. I have never experienced this many mosquitos. We reapplied every few holes and still got a ton of bites. We had played the day before at a course about 20 minutes away in similar conditions and did not see a single one, so I think it was likely the location (a little swampy) rather than the time of year.

This course is very nice and well taken care of. A lot of narrow holes and a lot of target golf to doglegs. I loved the layout but the course is LOADED with homes lining almost every fairway. Overall it was a very enjoyable round.

Was excited to play Dunegrass. Researched all local course and chose this one. Course in ok shape - no rain so give it a pass for being a bit rough around the edges. Greens and fairways pretty good.

Pace of play was terrible - 2:40 for nine holes so skipped the back. Super tight layout with 8min between tee times is a recipe for loooong rounds.

Too much out of bounds - houses right on course.. Crappy range .Just not a great setup all around.

Not worth the effort or money - I woulld not not go back. Nothing awful, just no a good expereince all around.

Dunegrass is a challenging course that is enjoyable to play. There are holes that are long, and most holes have some type of challenge, whether it be hitting over water or rough areas. The fairways are soft and the greens are quick. It is easy for me to highly recommend Dunegrass to enjoy a day of Golf.

Too much walking between holes.

I have mixed emotions about this course. I, literally, live in a neighborhood within a 1/4 of a mile from this course, yet I choose to be a member at a course 30 minutes away. The course itself is not bad. I actually like the holes, and it is playable for mid-high handicappers as well as more advanced players. My two main issues with this course are 1) the constant build-up of the residential neighborhood on the grounds, which have made the course tighter and tighter, and taking much of the enjoyment out of the round for the mid-high handicapper who worries that he will hit a house or person watering their lawn with an errant shot, and 2) the new management company. I will admit, the course conditions have improved dramatically since the new management company took over, as the prior owner was stingy with the water, but there is definitely a high sense of arrogance from the staff, especially their top staffers. I had a $20 gift certificate from the prior management (no expiration), and all i wanted to do was hit some balls at the range, and they wouldn't honor them because they "could not get their money for them". When I told him that you assume outstanding liabilities when you take over a business, he claimed he didn't have to. When I then asked him if he really wanted to be that stingy and risk losing business from someone who lived across the street over $20 worth of range tokens, he simply said "sorry". Bad business move, in my opinion.

Anyway, personal feelings aside and back to the course.....the annual membership is actually very reasonable, with no food minimums, and you get discounts to play at other courses the management company runs. I would become a member if I didn't have the issues that I had.

For golfers who want to start off on a positive note, this might not be the course for your. The first tee is a par 5, with houses lining the left side of the fairway. Given the average amateur's outside-in swing, it can lead to a lot of nerves and start your day off on the wrong foot.

Good putting green, driving range is no great shakes, but at least they have one.

Overall, the course is better than many in the Portland area, but there are many other places that are simply more enjoyable to play.

I have played Duengrass annually for several years. I keep waiting for it to take the next big step and reach its potential and reclaim its past greatness. The new management team from Nonesuch have been a great help in that quest. Its usually in good condition, but always has a few rough spots. The greens are more full than they were the past few years. The first hole is a good par 5, but there are several target golf par 4's on the front that do not excite me. The 18th is an equally worthy par 5 after a challenging run of holes on 14 through 17. I realize the course is hemmed in by the ever growing housing developments that encroach on it. There are several tight squeezes that will keep local glass companies busy from errant shots. If this course could stretch out a little, eliminate power lines anchored in the fairway, put better sand in the bunkers and improve some persistent problem areas, it could be the best public course in the Portland area. I may be asking for too much, but its not unattainable. Dunegrass has its loyal members, numerous golf outings and in the summer lots of vacationers from OOB. I prefer to play it in the spring and fall when things are quieter. Check out Dunegrass and see if you see what I have seen.
