Garland Lodge & Golf Resort - Reflections Course

Reflections can be the most challenging course at Garland, if you're not hitting the ball decently straight. A lot of places to get behind trees or disappear into the woods. A few holes have the water come into play. Several blind-ish tee shots are always a little daunting. May not be my favorite course at Garland, but still a great golf course. Be on the lookout for the eagles nest in the pines to the left between Reflections #10 and Monarch #11.

Didn't score as well as 2 years ago, but still had fun and it is my favorite of the 4 Garland courses available.

The course was great except for the bunkers which had grass growing in them which means they don't ever get groomed by the grounds keepers. They also had lots of pebbles and stones in them. These bunkers are an embarrassment to an otherwise nice facility and course.

We will not be back...too many nice courses in Michigan who actually maintain the bunkers!!!!!

Fun track and impeccably maintained - much more hilly terrain than the Monarch - this was the 2nd course we played in our mini getaway and enjoyed it very much; greens (bent grass) ran true. I will come back and play again.

To preface my rankings, we played through heavy rain for most of the day so there weren’t many people out there. Additionally, the conditions took a hit with the rain and there was some standing water.

Aside from the rain, the staff and amenities at all Garland courses was fantastic, but this course stood out amongst the rest as our groups least favorite. There were a few too many gimmicky holes and a couple where your approach is blocked-out unless you’re in the rough. We played the tips (6300ish so not a monster), but some tee boxes back there had porthole windows to shoot through with overhanging trees.

If you don’t have time to play every course at garland, this should be the first left off. If you do have time, it’s worth the play just expect some frustration.

Nice up north feel. Course is in great shape, yardage plays true.

Reflections is the perfect blend of beauty, fun and challenge. With exceptionally smooth greens. Garland knows how to setup a course.

Played Sunday afternoon & had the course to ourselves. Reflections is a great course not your traditional layout. Each nine has 3 par 3's, 3 par 4's & 3 par 5's. Just a fun & beautiful course. If your in the area, it's a definite stop.

Nothing to complain about. Great place and value.

This is a great place to play. Our group is thinking of returning but to stay on the grounds.

First time playing here and it was outstanding. Perfect shape.. very challenging holes. My only problem with some holes I would have a perfect drive but the pin placements made it almost unreachable at times.

It wad beautiful especially the first couple holes were very pretty. The front nine was my favorite.

Excellent day playing one of the most beautiful golf courses in Northern Michigan. Spectacular colors everywhere, the course is in pristine condition. Shotmaking is required and target golf at its best.

This course was rather wet - mud on the ball constantly. Course design is diabolical - there is some mean holes Course definitely has some teeth - Greens are fairly fast and undulation is prevalent. Condition was very good. Rough length around the greens is severe. Minimal margin for error. The course plays too tough for the average player - it wasn't fun.

All Garland courses are in great shape and when we have anyone from out of town they always say WOW what a nice course. One big problem though is the bugs are very annoying. I hope you are addressing this issue.

Nice course, but sand traps were not well maintained. Pace of play was great because we were basically the only ones on the course. Great value through Golf Now but not worth full price. Maybe conditions were as they were because it was late in the season, but we expected Garland to be pristine.
