It also has its own 18-hole golf course, Hapuna Golf Course, opened in 1992 and was designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay. The course was fantastic. Greens were perfect. Unfortunately the winds were 40mph or higher. The ball wouldn’t stay on the greens or on your tee. Looking forward to playing again when it is less windy. Overall a fun day.

This is a wonderful course. Well maintained and fun to play. Pace was a little slow but not bad. Greens we’re well maintained and the slope was a good challenge. Drive to clubhouse was well groomed and Nicely flowered entry way.

Don’t play in the afternoon

There are several options for golf in the Hapuna/Waikoloa/Mauna Kea area, this course is destined to struggle with high winds in the afternoon. Unlike Mauna Lani or Waikoloa, most of the course is exposed to the upper wind blown plains above the protected lower palms near the water. Even Waikoloa Village is more protected for a much lower price.
