Arubas best
Great course on the north side. Trade winds keep you honest and guessing. Spectacular views!
Not worth the money
They act like they are booked solid yet very few people golfing. Nice layout. Challenging. The condition of the course was far less than expected. Fairways were crabgrass and the greens were not in great shape. Looks like they seldom water. Played at the other Aruba course the day before and it was in much better shape. Golfer teamed with us rented clubs. They sent him out without a putter. His cart almost died on 16 and we had to push it up the hill on 18. For the cost, the value is less than expected. Sad as the course has a good layout. Pictures online are ot current conditions.
Beautiful Course Mediocre conditions- Disappointed
The course is set in a beautiful part of the island, the views are amazing
Rental clubs - not the best
Course conditions
very little effort is put into course maintenance ,
numerous tee boxes were horrible, unless you like hitting from dirt.
No half way house open or cart on course.
The only garbage I saw on the island was at the turn overflowing garbage can and litter all over the ground.
Not worth the money
My Experience
The course, practice facility and carts all seem run down. Seems like this course needs an injection of capital to get it back to what it could be. Their advantage is that they have virtually no competition on the island. If you visit Aruba and have to play golf
then give it a try as it is a unique experience but be prepared to feel like you overpaid for the overall quality.
Needs new ownership
Everything thing is worn out and the rack rate is extreme.
Course conditions improving
Played for the first time since last January when they were experiencing water problems. The course at that time was completely burnt out. They’ve resolved that issue and now it’s green again. Fun resort course to play with wind being a huge factor. Usually blowing at least 20mph. Course design factors in the constant wind from the east with downwind holes considerably longer. Make your score there since those into the wind are very challenging. Greens are fairly slow even though they look fairly healthy. Bunkers are ok, not great. Some interesting, well designed holes. It will test you but probably not bring you to your knees. Enjoy!
Typical Windy Day @ Tierra
Played in the afternoon and got right on - paired up with another single. The course is in the best shape I've seen it in quite a while. There is even water in the areas on the Back 9 that hasn't been there in YEARS, so you're finally hitting over water on Hole #15! We did burn through 2 carts, partly because of a power outage on the island.
Wind a huge factor
The windy conditions impacted play much more than. Ii estimatedg. Use a lot more club a knock your shot down against the wind.
Green fairways again
This was the third time playing this course. I played it first in January of 2022 and it was quite dry. This year 100% improved, fairways were moist and the rough was treacherous. Which is the way a links course should be. The greens are slow, only one putted three times. Last year the water hazard on 15 was all dried up, this year completely full of water. It’s always windy so enjoy it when it’s at you back.
With the Right Mindset you will enjoy this course.
Don’t expect a lush course in good condition. It’s impossible in
Aruba. But if you want spectacular views, challenging conditions and a nice time, this course will do.
More for less
Interesting track with the extreme wind, but the conditions and the price makes it about a 3 out fo 10 value. Because it's the only track in town $169 around is extreme. I would rate it at $50 max. I think the scenic value is over rated. Be aware of the daily 25 mpg rain burst, it will wear you out.
18 holes in Paradise
The course is situated along the coastline so you get to see the ocean as you play. No chance of hitting the ball out there, it’s not that close.
In decent shape for the climate and the region, but not equal to the standard rate. Played on a hot deal, which was the right choice for me.
Great bones, average course conditions
Structurally this is a fine course. Windy,, so work on your knockdowns. The problem is that it’s very clear they’re suffering economically, and unless you get the $65-$95 Hot Deal pricing you’re overpaying for sure. Greens are horribly slow, and are literally as thick as a fairway on a US course. Many greens have other issues as well, so don’t expect to score well that way. But I love hitting it around this course, it’s fun, at $95 or less.
Golf Carts
There was a problem with not having enough golf carts for the players. We had to use carts that were not fully charged for our round. Several players carts stopped working on the course. They definitely need more golf carts when they have that many golf tee times for one day.
