Course condition could be better
The course sits on a beautiful piece of land. The course condition could be a lot better than its current form. There are not many people play so the pace was pretty good. The resort has bars and restaurants that one can enjoy after the play.
Worst kept course ever
Even the day after we played, I am still astounded at the condition of this course. I re-read some reviews this morning and can’t believe it is even the same course. We constantly teed off from ankle deep weeds (see pic). Several times we couldn’t even play from where the tee markers were set because the weeds were taller than our tees. It looks like they may have started as Bermuda grass but it has been completely taken over by weeds. The entire course is either weeds or bare dirt. Most of the sand traps have eroded and are hard pan. If they sprayed weed killer on this course, only the greens would be spared. And not even all the greens would survive. There is no way a professional greenskeeper works there. The driving range is a disgrace and every flag on the course was ripped and tattered. It is a dump. Not at all what a resort course should be. I’m pretty unhappy that we wasted a beach day at this course.
Aruba golf
Course is a great layout however a few things could be better. The tee boxes could be better maintained. The fairways could be cut a little more too. If you don't mind playing in the wind you'll have a good time. Overall you're golfing in Aruba so relax and enjoy the scenery.
Scenic course with challenging winds
Beautiful course and well maintained. Wind adds to the challenge as it is often a two club wind. Hole ten had a bird mating problem where two mated birds were protective and kept diving at you while you tried to putt. Good for a laugh. I played three rounds here and whenever we come back I will play again.
Fun course to play---BUT
DO NOT pay rack rate to play this course. Use TeeOff or similar sites to find a discount. Tierra del Sol offers lower rates in the afternoon.
Unfortunately, this course is not in good shape. Weeds growing on several of the greens, rocks in the sand traps, sand traps that need grooming, tee boxes that need mowing. One person mowing the greens while you are putting, fairways with little or no grass, and plenty of weeds. The golf balls at the driving range are so old, that many of the balls are out of round. I find it difficult to understand how a course can be in such disarray and have such high green fees.
With that being said---I found the course challenging. The wind adds an element to the game that is fun to deal with for 18 holes.
If you are looking to play an 18-hole golf course, I would consider giving Tierra del Sol a try. If not, look at playing Divi 9-hole golf course.
Better than the reviews!
We play this course every time we come to Aruba . You have to understand that it is a desert course and very windy so it's never going to have pristine fairways but that being said the views and the welcoming folks in the clubhouse are worth the price of admission. We did get a super deal this time but would have paid a bit more to have such an enjoyable experience.. If you like playing a challenging course with great scenery then this is for you.. You are playing golf in Aruba with great ocean views and goats sharing some tee boxes with you. You can't have that everywhere.
Very nice Course
The Course is in good condition, some dry peaces but for an island which has not the rain we had in Europe it is really good.
The greens are in perfect condition, the people who work there are friendly and help with everything.
I will play there a lot of times in future,as I live since last month at Aruba.
Goat Farm
This course was in terrible shape. The greens are beaten up and it looks like they might have a disease as there are brown patches on almost every one. The fairways are very uneven, with some grass in places and dirt in others. There were goats grazing on hole #2, which may explain the lack of fairway. The bunkers were uneven and most of them had grass growing in them. I expected a resort like course, especially for $159 for the round, but was very disappointed. A couple of other items to mention. The golf carts are really beaten up. The one I had wouldn’t engage the brake and kept rolling away from me on hills. The rental clubs, which are Titleist, are at least 3/4 generations from the current models. I would not recommend playing this course.
Needs maintenance
Beautiful layout. Nice views. Course needs major maintenance. Greens and fairways burnt out. Greens were being top dressed. Tee boxes were not mowed. Played the course numerous times. This was the worst condition I recall. Hopefully they will put more money into course maintenance.
Aruba Golf
You would never play this course if you were home, but in Aruba, it’s fine.. Poor conditions,, playable, really nice water views. Nice day…… Hey, you’re golfing in Aruba….not so bad
This course is poorly maintained
We were excited to play this course for the first time and were quickly disappointed in how poorly maintained it is. They only had a few water stations throughout and no beverage cart running on a Saturday. Cost of $400 for two of us to play and definitely not worth the money.
Terrible course conditions
Beautiful amenities but it was like playing on Mars. Fairways were rocky and not very green, and you can easily lose a ball in the middle of the fairway. Not worth it for the price
You should play now! The course is in way better shape.
