Greens ruin it
Good reviews on this website but greens are horrible-unplayable. Staff/caddies great and friendly. Wouldn’t recommend to play until green issue figured out.
I was robbed in Jamaica
This course is the worst I have ever played on. The greens are dirt and clumpy. All 18 holes! I played 100+ rounds each of the last 20 years and this is by far the worst. The views are very nice and the staff are friendly but the course conditions ruined the experience. Not even worth half the price I paid. Stay clear of this course!
Unplayable course conditions
Golf is about the greens. Plain and simple. The worst course conditions a golfer should have to face is recent aeration .. and generally speaking, when booking your tee time if the greens are under repair, the course generally makes people aware ahead of time.
What I experienced yesterday was one of the saddest golf experiences I’ve ever had. I came to Jamaica for one week with my family and just wanted one nice round while I was here.
When I showed up, the staff were friendly and made
Me and my dad very excited to start our round. Once we got to the first tee, our caddy explained that the greens weren’t in great shape and just to take two when hitting the green…
When we got up to the first green, without any exaduration, it was dirt. Just dirt and mud with a few grass patches. There didn’t appear to be any effort being taken either. No sign of seeding, plugging, patching, just seems like they’re letting it go and have given up hope…
The staff were nice and the caddy was very helpful getting around the course, and it’s no doubt that they would all like to see the greens in playing condition as well.
I don’t know where the problem is here but this course should seriously consider shutting down and reopening when you can play golf on the golf course again.
Feel totally ripped off having paid over 300 for the round including the mandatory caddy on a golf course that’s completely unplayable.
I wish I could add pictures to this review, but just picture a 5 star layout with 18 dirt greens and you’ll get the picture.
greens in terrible shape, fairways okay
Greens were sub par. Dried out and just plain dirt, didn't seem to have irrigation. Never seen greens that bad. Overpriced for the quality of the greens. Caddie was knowable and enjoyable. Pro shop was good.
Shape of the greens ruined our experience at White Witch. We arrived in Jamaica by cruise ship were very disappointed in our golf excursion.
wish golf now was honest upfront
the course was nicely laid out, but the greens were dried up mud and I mean putting was like putting on a table top of dried mud with animal foot tracks sticking up .....so while I shot good getting to the greens, it made is impossible to score.
I think that golf now should have known this and let me know up front prior to booking that this was how this course was....Frankly I think they should return our money
Great day of golf at White Witch.
Views were spectacular. Caddie Shawnee was very good. Greens rough for this time of year. Rest of course was in good shape.
Don’t make the witch mad….
The course overall was great, the greens were a mess and no one told us this until we got there. Our Caddie was excellent, her name was Nada, ask for her if you go there. If the spirit of the witch is not with you, she will let you know based on how you play 😂
Greens are in bad shape
Let’s start with the positive. Our caddy’ was amazing! The course was in bad shape. Also what upsets me is that when I booked this online on TeeOff app nowhere did it say there was a caddie fee or that the conditions of the greens would be like dirt. Such a shame. The course could be amazing with proper upkeep.
Disappointed
Greens are appalling, even at a discounted rate wouldn't be recommending this to anyone. The staff were excellent and very welcoming / friendly but they should leave this course to recover and it needs a good 6-12 months before it gets to acceptable
Great vibes at a great course
Very challenging, very beautiful course with the world's friendliest folks.
Too hot for comfort
The course is beautiful, with significant elevation changes. Several holes are played along the Caribbean Sea. The fairways and bunkers were in excellent shape. However, several greens showed signs of stress. There was evidence of the beginning of disease. The layout is challenging, but fair. Playing this course in July brings in heat as a serious factor. It was brutally hot and I had to hydrate repeatedly. Overall, I enjoyed the round despite the temperature being over 90 degrees Fahrenheit. It’s a very nice golf course. I’ve played it multiple times through years and will continue to play it when I visit Jamaica.
Very Good Golf course
Friends and I visiting from the USA and Canada played the course on 6/03 & 6/04 and found it was in great shape although it rained several consecutive days leading up to the weekend. The golf course has some very scenic and some challenging holes. We used Golf Now .com which helped with the cost as normally 18 holes cost anywhere from $125 and up which is pricey.
Cinnamon Hill has some very good caddies.
With several large groups playing on Sunday the starter seemed overwhelmed and there was a glaring lack of communication We enjoyed playing Cinnamon Hill and will go back again.
A word of caution ...to visiting golfers to the Montego Bay area, rule out Half Moon as they overpriced for a less than average golf course and customer service is atrocious.
Cinnamon Hill golf - fabulous day!
We had a wonderful day golfing - our Caddy Warren was absolutely amazing and knew the course extremely well. We will definitely be back next year!!
