Beechwood Golf Course - Creekside/Lakeview
About
Located just outside of Arcanum, Beechwood Golf Course proudly holds the title of the being the only 27-hole golf course in Darke County. The holes are played in three different 18-hole combinations that are made up of two distinct nines. The Creekside/Lakeview course, as one would guess, features plenty of water. The third hole on the Creekside nine is notable for the severe dogleg left fairway. Lakeview is the newest of the three nines, added in 1997 almost 10 years after the original golf course. This nine continues the challenges with forced carries over water on the second and third holes. In addition to the water, there is extensive mounding throughout the course that accentuates the already hilly terrain, making an even lie somewhat hard to find.

Great course !
Every time I have ever played Beechwood it has been a good golf outing. Very friendly staff, always in good shape, and 27 holes!
great conditions
we found the course in very good shape for all the weather we have had . We never waited but a minute or two to hit and never felt pushed.
It's all about the greens
I like the course but the greens should all be cut the same. Some were faster and some slower.
Simple Course, Great Price
Played Woodland/Creekside at 1:22 on a Tuesday- 4.2 Handicap
Played front 9 in about 1:10 hours. Played back 9 in about 1:30 hours. There was a 2some holding me up which did not allow me to play through, no fault of the course though. All the recent rain did a number on the rough. Rough was thin but tall with a lot of mud and mowing tracks. Fairways and tees were good. Greens were in excellent shape, albeit slow.
Cost was $23 with cart. Can't beat that, but probably won't be back due to not quite challenging enough for myself and distance is quite far away.
More good value Darke County Golf
Played the Creekside onto the Lakeview. I'll cut the course some slack for the overnight rain which meant the course was sloppy at times with some standing water in places. Otherwise conditions were pretty good outside of some uncontained anthills on 4 and 8 on the Creekside. Greens were soft and a touch slow because of all the rain, bunkers had wet sand with standing water in a lot of them. Layout was a bit of a mixed bag. Plenty of straight forward holes, but there were a few that were very well laid out. The one that really caught my eye was 8 on the Lakeview, a par 3 with an elevated tee with a creek crossing from tee to green (the hole pictured), which could be potentially brutal with a left-to-right crosswind and a far left pin placement. There is an alternate tee which makes the hole parallel to the creek, but the elevated tee crossing the creek is far superior. My buddy and I ended up with a hot deal for $18 a piece, which is absurd value, but even at the typical $35 for 18 holes, it's still very good value. It's certainly worth the trip for the value, and I still lean towards Turtle Creek as being a better course in Darke County, but this place is certainly no slouch
Great value
Extremely friendly staff, off early, quik pace, nothing at all to complain about.
like always good time little windy and wet in some areas .. but you can expect after 9 days of rain...
Great option!
Really enjoyed the course. A good drive to get there, but well worth it. I would play it again. 3 nine hole courses. Try it....you will like it.
Great course for the money!
I booked a hot deal with golfnow, and played this course for $16. The course was in good condition, and had a great pace of play. Course has three different 9 hole courses. All are fun and different styles of play. I will gladly play this course all season long for that price!
All three 9 hole course where in Great shape.
The staff at the pro shop and all the personal we met where very very nice and professional but very happy.l would recommend going and playing any of the three 9 holes. The greens where fast and imperfect shape . The whole course was excellent and be worth playing.
Course looked beautiful!
I have not played here for quite a few years and forgot how nice everything looked. Course was well taken care of, speed of play was good and the gentleman checking us in was very helpful.
Nice course with friendly staff
Very good course layout! Front 9 in the woods needing very accurate drives, back 9 a bit more open. Staff is super friendly and very accommodating.
Nice Course
Great course for the price. Nice layout with three nine hole courses to chose from. All three courses are nice but I find the Lakeview to be the most challenging. Friendly staff as well.
