Poorly maintained course
Its a shame. This course shows great potential but is poorly maintained. Sand traps have weeds going up through them and the sand is packed down like concrete. Fairways are poorly maintained. Greens are hard as a rock and bugs spots with no "green" on the green. If you can't maintain this course, sell it so someone else can. It could be a very nice course.
Course was fun
We had a good time and the course had some crazy holes . It was very dry as are many of the courses in this area right now. Since it was dry the ball rolled a long way which was good and bad.
Cow Pasture
I read the reviews on golf advisor and decided to give this course a shot and boy was I amazed at how bad the course conditions were. First, the fairways were either burnt up or full of weeds and crab grass. Second, the bunkers had very little if any sand in them and some of them were on their way to being grown in. If your going to play a course near Youngstown go to Kennsington or Firestone Farms and pay a little more money for an actual golf course.
Poor excuse for a Golf Course
Do not pay attention to the other reviews. This course is a train wreck. There is no fairway to speak of, either burnt up or crab grass and weeds. They should pay guests to come play this course that is how bad it is. 2 of us quit on hole 12 because the conditions were so bad and I never quit on a course. Please spend the extra money and play a real golf course like Kensington or Links at Firestone Farms.
Nice people TERRIBLE COURSE
My brother came home for military leave and I wanted to take him to a new decent course while he was home... I read good reviews for Diamond Back so I decided to take him here.. I was embarassed at the first tee! This course was horrible!!! Crab grass in the fairways, bald spots in the fairways, scorched grass in the fairways and even tee boxes, greens had dead spots and rotten spots. If your reading this go somewhere else!! Don't waste your money here... Only plus was that the staff was nice. I was embarassed!
Good course for the price
Very nice course layout. I would recommend playing this course at least once. The only thing I didn't like there was no water jugs throughout the entire course, so if it's hot make sure you have plenty of your own liquids.
Diamond Back
The course was in surprisingly good shape after all the rain weve had. Greens were in good shape, fairways and tee boxes could be better. but all in all good shape under circumstances. By the way the only course around that day with no cart restrictions and alot of courses we called were closed. Diamond back drains well in my opinion. We will go back, nice course.......
Needs maintained
Tee off boxes were in bad shape. The grass needed cut in the fairways and rough. The rough was terrible, it was extremely high and filled with white flowers which made looking for your ball impossible. The greens were surprisingly in good shape though.
Wondering
This course used to be one of my favorite courses but needs a little help this year. Maybe it is just early in the season and no work has been done yet. Hope that is the case.
nice course
Nice course. Great greens. Fair ways were a little rough
Good course and exceptional value
I love playing Diamond Back ! A hidden little gem, and from the back tee's it's a good test. Very tricky greens and in great shape right now...
Winner!
Very nice layout with a variety of fun holes! The greens are small but VERY fast and a great test for any golfer. This is a course you have to play one or twice before thinking you'll shoot 'lights out'. Will certainly go back!
Good time
The weather was perfect. The course is in great condition. Very nice greens. Lady friendly. The score book gives good tips on playing the course.
It was a pleasure to play
Weather was perfect, the course was well kept, it couldn't have been much better. Fairways were very nice, the rough was challenging, and the greens were wonderful. The most difficult part of the round was that none of the 3 of us could figure out the speed of the greens. They were extreemly fast in one direction and really slow the other way. Maybe next time we'll be able to figure that out!
nice greens and fairways
maybe I just had a great putting day , but the greens really putted very smooth and true. This is a nice course to just run out without tee times as it is seldom crowded weekdays. well worth the money.
need a leaf blower
The course was in nice shape if it wasn't for the leaves. It was a very cold and windy day, but I lost a couple on balls in the middle of the fairway because of the leaves. Great Golfnow price, great value for 18 with a cart.
This is a good course for beginner/intermediate golfers.
There were several challenging par 4 holes with either water, sand, or some kind of hill that affected the overall apporach to the green. This is course is a great play for the money.
Hot Deal
Cracked greens and slow play were the only draw backs. The value of the hot deal (18 holes for $14) was still worthwhile for a day in the sun playing golf.
