Played this course as part of a golf trip to/around the Cleveland area in late May 2023. This course was included on our itinerary based on its listing as a Top Course by Golf Advisor.
PACE: We were the first ones off the tee. Had a 2-some catching us on the back 9, but they got slowed down just like we did (see Layout).
CONDITIONS: Tees, greens, and fairways were good condition I would consider the bunkers average. The green speed wasn't fast, and they are not overly demanding.
STAFF: Incredible. Very friendly and helpful. This includes the counter person inside and the workers we encountered out on the course.
VALUE: The walking rate is very fair.
LAYOUT: Played the White tees (5,800). The front 9 has a lot of down and back holes that are very straightforward. The courses uses a creek to keep you honest. The par 5s on the front are the notable challenge. The back 9 is nothing like the front. There are several severe doglegs (some 90-degrees). Hole #16 is a boomerang around a pond. This course is very walkable!
We weren't sure what we were getting into with this course, but it was great! It gives you the ability to score well, but will challenge you if you get out of position. The hedgerow to the left of #13 is something we still talk about.
Great Day
There was a golfer walking ahead of us playing two balls which slowed down play a little. But the course was nice and the staff was great!
This course is fairly challenging for newer golfers.
I have came to love this course, but it is a fairly challenging course for newer golfers. I have struggled here more than other courses but I will keep coming back!
Great value
Course is always in great shape. Has a fun layout. Definitely worth the money.
Nice course for the price
Enjoyed playing here. We will definitely make the trip back before the season ends.
Excellent course
Loudon Meadows is a diamond in the rough… great vibes and excellent staff other than the guy in the sun hat. This guy abuses his power and belittles course players to make them feel like they’re disrespecting the course. Every little chance he gets he’ll make a rude comment and act like he’s the golf god, this has happened to myself or people I’m playing with multiple times. He also does his work way too close to players and never gives out good vibes like the rest of everyone on staff there. Hope the club pro sees this and can straighten his behavior because other than him the course is amazing.
Golf course
I was so impressed with the condition of this course. Staff was extremely nice. Would absolutely recommend this course. Cons, corky layout and very old carts. This staff went above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel comfortable. GREAT EXPERIENCE. JON AMMONS
Good course, but could’ve been better.
I would have played another course if I had known the range would be closed all morning. No communication from the pro shop on this shortcoming. Despite this, I had fun on the course; it was in great shape.
Good course
This is the best of the courses in Fostoria Ohio. That being said the bar is not set real.high. It is a fun course to play though the layout can be slightly confusing. The staff are courteous but do not go above and beyond. The oddest thing is there is an outhouse on the second hole. Who needs one that early in the round. It is a decent course and I do enjoy playing there.
Enjoyed the course.front 9 went fine back nine was slow. Greens were in good condition.
Great course, in great shape at this time of year...
Our foursome had a great round of golf, and the course was in great shape... Very nice course, with a fun challenging layout.
