Golf Advisor: Top Courses in Ohio
We played this course for the first time yesterday. It was a truly great experience. After a safe check-in, we were kept apprised of our tee time status by the friendly starter. There were a few times that we had to wait on holes, but the round took just over 4 hours for our foursome. The course was in great shape for November 10th. It was unseasonably warm, and very windy at times. Staff was working on leaf removal the whole time. Greens were great. A little firm, but would hold. Fairways were great. A really fun track staffed by friendly people.
Very Nice Course. Want to play there again
Our foursome traveled an hour from Cleveland to play here. We had a Groupgolfer discount which made the round even nicer. I love the layout and the course is challenging, but fair. Every staff member was pleasant and worked hard to make sure we were happy. You will not be disappointed when you play Eagle Creek.
Best greens ever!
Drove 1.5hrs to play EC based on years of seeing other websites rave about this course in tiny Norwalk, OH. Considering we've had 20+ 90-degree days this July, I will forgive the many burned out spots in the fairways. The greens, however, were immaculate! Hard, fast, and true - absolutely worth the drive to play these greens. A creek meanders through the course with occasional ponds guarding greens. Great scorecard with pictures of each hole and key yardages to bunkers/hazards/dogleg corners. Holes are very close together with minimal elevation changes so could easily be walked. Nice practice area. Starter gave good 'local knowledge' advice on a few holes that we greatly appreciated. We played on a Saturday morning and it was a welcome sight to see the cart girl multiple times during our round.
Worth the drive
First time here and it didn’t disappoint. Great conditions. Nice driving range to warm up. Fantastic clubhouse with a decent pro shop. Fun layout that’s very fair. Will be back
GREAT COURSE AND THE BEST GREENS IN THE STATE OF OHIO!
I was thoroughly impressed with this course. Set up to make it challenging but if you are on your game you get put up an excellent round.
Challenging course - great greens
We played on a sunny, windy day. The greens are very true and surprisingly fast - the ball will move fast on downhill putts and chips. Interesting course layout with a good variety of tees. The practice facilities were excellent including grass driving range and practice bunker. Extensive food menu in clubhouse.
Amazing Course, Sadistic Pins
This course is absolutely amazing tee-to-green, and Brian Huntley is one of the best architects in Ohio. However, whoever decides to place the pins must be a sadist. Every single pin was on a knob, and with the greens rolling at a 10-13 speed it was borderline unfair, any missed putt would leave a 3-4 footer coming back the other way. Doing that on a shorter hole, fine, but not on 420+ yard par 4's or a 550 yard par 5 that plays into the wind. It poured all the way on the hour drive to the course, but it handled the weather beautifully. The course is worth the money and the drive.
Good variety of holes.
Great golf course with a good variety of holes and some of the fastest greens around. Course condition are excellent And they have a great restaurant with inside or outside seating and a full bar with sandwiches or a pizza after the round.
Overall Great Experience!
Experienced friendly staff, a beautiful, well maintained course, and a nice restaurant with a fully stocked bar at the 19th. Can't get much better value for your dollar.
Located an hour drive west of Cleveland, this is one of the best courses that is well worth the drive to get to. Excellent condition, w/ challenging holes, & very fast greens. A true test of your skills. Always ranked as one of the best courses in Northern Ohio.
