Good (and tough) course to learn on.
It is what it is. Keep your ball in the fairway here or you'll likely lose your ball. Course isn't mowed well and often the fairway grass is pretty long. Greens aren't in great condition and they are pretty fast in the summer. Regular prices are probably way too high for the course conditions but $15 twilight is nice. The elevation changes are good. The creek runs through many holes in the front 9 so watch out! Also lots of OB opportunities on the back 9 neighborhood holes. "Incoming!"
Was a bland experience.
First time playing this course. I was not impressed. It seemed more like a 15$ course then a 30$ course. First, I had to run back to the clubhouse to get 3 different golf carts. The first two would take 10 seconds before the engine would fire up and move at a snails pace. The third cart was a charm.
The first front nine was in just decent shape, the back nine was in great shape. The cart paths were in terrible shape with tons of standing water. The greens were ok.
Here’s the kicker, this course was so boring to play. Every hole was just like the last. No dog legs, no water (other than puddles), just straight fairways, all 18 of them. It was a really boring course if you’re into challenging holes. The staff does a good job and for some this course may be fine, but definitely not for me.
Terrible place
Got here 30 minutes before my tee time no one is here doors locked at my tee time still haven’t seen anyone inside, couple guys working on the green walk past me don’t say anything and just keep on moving….no sign says its closed or anything
Great banger course
Great beginner course. Very little trouble. Greens were bad but overall if you're getting started it's pretty forgiving (and teaches you humility to get out of the trouble it does have) with coupons totally worth it.
Friendly staff
The conditions of the course were the worst I had ever seen. My buddy and I had to “Flinstone” the golf cart to start moving. The greens were in shambles. This course does have a lot of potential if the City of Choctaw would invest time and money into it. Not worth the price for a round.
Greens
They need work, a lot. Other than that, fun cheaper course.
no no
I was not impressed. The carts were in bad shape. The course conditions were horrible..
Worse course I’ve ever played will not go back.
Rolls of sod laid out on the greens. Fairways are so close you have to watch for foals hitting you on every fairway.
I love golf but the best thing about golf is making it to the greens only to find them in shambles
Course layout is tricky no maps on either the score card or at hole markings so unless you've played there you may aim towards hole 4 on hole 1 and may miss hole 3 (par 3 entirely thinking it's part of a later hole set. There were at most 2 greens in fair condition the others you were putting in the sand trap which is not fun for any level of player but quite frustrating
It’s a good Beginner Course
Hey this place is a little rough in some spots, the greens are mostly in tough shape but you can tell they’re trying. I would say they need to weedeat more around the creek, mower deeper around the course and the whole net on the driving range is in tatters. It makes you feel nervous to drive past it to the club house when people are practicing. All holes are a straight line basically so it’s good for someone new to golf. The people seem nice.
It is What It Is
Good option for duffers like myself. Inexpensive and uncrowded. Greens are rough. Lots of places to lose your ball so bring extras!
Don’t waste your time or money
To be fair the guy at the desk did say the greens weren’t in the best condition. That being said he should have said the greens were destroyed. He doubled charged me and my guest for our round and the course was so bad you would be better off playing in a cow pasture. I’ll never be back.
I have seen goat pastures with better grass!
Greens were burnt up. Fairways are dirt and dust. You need a hammer to get your tees in the ground on the tee boxes. Course is garbage!!!!
It's the greens.
Plays much like a Links course with tall roughs that eat your golfballs. Spent a lot of time looking on a few holes for balls we had tracked into the rough but could not find. Have to stay on the fairways. But that was okay - our fault for hitting there.
There are no signs showing the layout of each hole and no layout on the scorecards. It's mostly straight, but a bit confusing at times.
The greens are awful. Very few opportunities to putt without going through one or more dead patches which change the roll significantly.
For good golfers, this course would be very frustrating. For average to poor, it's a decent value for what you pay. But bring a bag of balls!
