Oregon City Golf Club
About
Oregon City Golf Club was originally built in 1922 as a nine-hole course. In 1960, the second nine was added bringing the total yardage to 5,940. It had no sand traps but did contain plenty of trees and rolling fairways.
Today, the course has been updated with sand traps on most holes, water on three, and the same rolling fairways and trees that have grown significantly larger. The drainage is excellent which makes it an outstanding winter course. A new clubhouse was completed in 1997 which provides all the amenities a golfer could need; including a fully stocked pro-shop, snack bar, 2,400 ft. banquet facility, putting green, and a large outside deck for your pre or post round refreshments.

Driving in the driving rain
I gave the course conditions a "poor" but that wasn't the course's fault. Normally it's in very good shape but today when it wasn't raining it was pouring. I mean we were soaked to the skiin. Heck, we were soaked to the skin after 3 holes. All my gear is spread out in the garage drying out. Given that we didn't get any plugged balls, we actually got some run in the fairways. There were puddles on most of the greens but the rest of the course was merely soggy. For about 20 minutes the rain let up and you could see the course does drain very well.
Hello, JohnJ302. Thank you for reviewing the course. We are sorry about your recent experience. It sounds like you had a good time despite the rain. Thank you for playing Oregon City Golf Club. We hope to see you again on a sunny day soon.
Top Notch
I played OCGC back in July, as I recently bought a home near the course and wanted to give it a test run. Wow, what a gem! I currently live and play golf in Southern California, but playing this course has me eagerly anticipating retirement and becoming a member, when I make the permanent move in June. The folks in the pro shop are amazing, the course is meticulously maintained, and the value is unbelievable. It's a challenging course (at least for me), but that's what makes it fun to play. The greens were some of the best I've played on. I had a 7:30am tee time, showed up at 6:50am and was given my cart key and told to enjoy the course. I practically had the course to myself. Everything about my experience was Top Notch! :) Thank you for a wonderful round of golf!

Fun and fair course in good condition all things considered. I really like this place

Overpriced and uninspired
The “driving range” is four old mats on a field of dead grass that maxes out at 170 yards. No nets and it parallels the first hole. Speaking of which …
The first 5-6 holes run parallel to one another with very little space between. We didn’t play a single hole on that opening stretch without covering our heads when nearby groups shouted “fore.”
The greens were soft and slow, but ran pretty true and were in decent shape. Very little slope or creativity to them, but made for a great putting day.
Fairways were decent. But if you missed them by 5+ feet you’ll be on hard pan, dead grass and dirt.
We spent $46/each for a Saturday morning round. WAY overpriced. This is a course that should be $20-25 for 18 holes.
The staff was really friendly, and I shot my lowest round ever, but it wasn’t enough to bring me back. Go play Chehalem Glenn.

Don't Recommend
Greens are in good condition. Fairways are in bad shape and the rough is compacted soil. Had to dodge other players balls on almost every hole due to the narrow fairways and adjacent fairways.
Hello, Travis5492099. Thank you for leaving us a review. We are sorry to hear your experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you will give us another try in the future. Thank you for choosing Oregon City Golf Club.
It’s cool
Good value course. Expect soft and slow greens, no water off fairways so “rough” is firm dirt and dry grass, and crab grass. Layout is a bit odd but kinda quirky fun. Drivable par 4s, 90* doglegs, dry creek through fairway. It’s fun and a good value but not a nicely maintained or legit yardage and layout course.

Fun course overall..
A lot of watering on this summer day..almost swampy. Slower and spongy dome type of greens, and fairly narrow layout with a few 170 yard par 3, and a 600 yard par 5.amongst short par 4 holes.

Good course
This is a good course for the value. Stay on the short grass and it’ll be green, off target = hard pan distance. Greens were soft and slow to putt, but overall a good course. One funky hole that wiggles right and then left??? Not sure what the designer was thinking other than to squeeze some more distance into the course. Distance or lack thereof not a big concern on this course. Very
Playable from the whites.
