Awesome Golfing
Long course. but this course is wide open, played it twice and didn't lose a single ball, course is really taken care of, they have very nice greens and tee boxes. The carts are pretty new and Electric and run very good.
if they had GPS on the carts this would be better than the high dollar Country Clubs I've played in the South.
Wonderful regardless of slow play
This by no means is a PGA facility but for 10 bucks it sure is a great one. No it's not plush but the course is well taken care of. Bunkers could use some sand but the greens are superb!!!! They are very receptive and will roll off the green if not careful. Definitely a must and repeat play!!!
An unbelievably good course for the price
This was one of the most well maintained public courses I have ever played, for an extremely low cost. The greens were cut short and well maintained, the bunkers were real, and the whole experience was amazingly pleasant. I strongly encourage anyone near it (or like me, driving through!) to check it out.
An Absolute Steal
This is an absolute gem of a golf course. From tee to green (ESPECIALLY the greens), this could easily be a $50-75 track. I've played on greens with triple digit rates that were worse than these. Greens at Down River were fiery and true, even making some of the pin placements a touch unfair because of undulation. Tee boxes were in terrific shape, course was well marked, and the rate was fantastic. Would definitely make the drive here again. Terrific course.
Nice Course!
This is a nice course in Everett, PA. Staff and bar attendants were very polite and friendly. The shop attendant had us go out earlier than our tee time to avoid a large group that was playing right after us. Pace of play was a little slow at first, but picked up around 4th hole. The course was in great condition considering that it rained 2 inches the day before. There was some standing water in some lower areas of the course, but again, very understandable given the weather conditions the previous day. The view of the mountains on the back 9 is very beautiful.
Down River
Fantastic course! Fairways are wide enough to accommodate not so perfect shots so you don't lose your balls. Very nice course and great value for the money.

Course is open and very beginner friendly.
Always enjoy playing this course, scores are usually low 80's fast play, and wide open.
