The Phoenix at Buffalo Valley

To play golf in Western PA in December is a treat and the Phoenix was a double treat. For an end of the season date with very little traffic the staff was extremely courteous and friendly. While we had to wait for frost to leave the staff provided us with free coffee and great conversation. The staff also had us start on the 13th hole as those last 6 holes were on the sunny side of the course so we could get a good start. The fairways were in great condition and greens were surprisingly fast. An excellent day for golf made better by a good course and great staff!

Was a great deal for the price. Course has some spots that should be addressed. Did not see anyone doing any maintenance on the course. It was challenging with some long holes and with some additional work could really be a course that would draw customers. We only saw 2 other players which was definitely a shame.

Toughest back 9 I've ever played because I can't hit it 260 or more. There are several holes where it is true country club quality but they have work to do on most traps and fairways. For the discount I got on GolfNow - I'd go there any day. Their normal rates are OK but I'd say the course rule should be "roll the ball in the fairway" and the half abandoned traps are "ground under repair".

Not an easy course to find if you are new to the area. Lots of elevation to this course, which is a big change from Florida courses. Greens and fairways in decent shape.

I really enjoyed playing the last 8 holes but it didn't make up for the first 10 holes which were in poor shape. I wouldn't play there again for a least a few more years with the hope that they are able to improve course conditions over that time.

This course has everything you need to challenge yourself and others.

This course is an overall great value. Playing into the lay of the land, the course challenges every type of player. Overall had a great experience, and we look forward to playing at The Phoenix at Buffalo Valley, at our next golf outing.

will play again, we have noticed improvement each time we play there

The course management has made gradual improvements over the last year and obviously intends to continue with new tee boxes and bunkers. Still have a long road to restore a grand lady

This course was very scenic and well maintained. The teeboxes still need some work though. The staff were great at customer hospitality. The course layout was very playable. The deck had an amazing view of the tree line and the green of the ninth hole. It is surprising to me that more people aren't playing this course.

Had wanted to try this course for quite some time. However, we were extremely disapointed. overall condition of the course was very poor. A few holes were well maintained, in paticular # 1. After that conditions went downhill, fairways poorly maintained,sand traps a catasrophy, and the greens not better. We know the course has recently changed hands, but it will be a long time before we would attempt to play it again. There are to many courses in our area, and a number of them much less expensive, for us to drive about 50 minutes to play this track.

Many of the holes were challenging but the condition was poor. The price was acceptable and pace of play was good. Was dissapointed since it has great potential.

The course was well maintained and the staff was friendly.
