Great public course
I haven’t played public courses in a while. I remember last time that I played here. The pacer play was very slow. I was very happy with the course and pace of play this time. Finished playing in three hours and 45 minutes. The course was in great condition. It’s much better than I remember. I think it’s one of the better public courses in this area.
First time out this year
Course is in great shape. Played just under 4 hours around noon. This is one of my favorites. Great value for the money.
I don’t even know where to start
Wooof. Where do I even begin with this place. Played the afternoon of Saturday 5/17. With fairness to the course, we got deluged by rain on Friday. So, it was definitely wet. Not the courses fault. But, a quick synopsis of the ABJECT DISASTER that this place was on this Saturday.
1. Walked into the shop to check in - pro shop guy barely says a word to me and just hands me a receipt. “Walking? Here” and that was it. Clearly miserable but, no that big of a deal I guess.
2. We play 2 holes. TWO HOLES. And the third tee box is already backed up. 2some waiting. 4some standing in the fairway, waiting. On the 2nd hole? Seriously guys?
3. The course itself = disaster. We got pummeled with rain (not the courses fault) but there was ZERO drainage. None.
4. We get to hole 6. As if the pace of play was absolutely deplorable, as we get ready to tee off, a family of 4 comes casually walking down the cart path, enjoying a nice afternoon walk on the course. With a young child (maybe 4-5 years old) casually running around from cart path to fairway. They see us, acknowledge us, and just keep casually strolling right towards us. After a few “YOOO. EXCUSE ME. PLEASE MOVE, YOURE IN A VERY UNSAFE POSITION. WE NEED TO PLAY” as the group behind us is now approaching the tee box. They tell us “Oh, we’re sorry. We figured this was a walking path”. HUH?!? The circus at this place goes on.
5. Back to pace of play - TWO HOURS AND FORTY FOUR MINUTES ON THE FRONT NINE. TWO HOURS. FORTY FOUR MINUTES. Of course I go to find Mr Happy in the pro-sho and he’s nowhere to be found. Shop lights off, doors closed.
6. Back 9 - moved slightly better. But as sunset eventually approached, here comes Mr Happy! I was walking, but the other players with me and players surrounding us on other holes abruptly hear “LAST HOLE. ONE MORE HOLE. I NEED CARTS IN, NOW. YOU, YOU CAN KEEP PLAYING. YOURE WALKING” Gee, thanks, guy.
I’ve played PineCrest a number of times over the years. It was never more than a decent place and typically served its purpose. But, holy moly, never again will I set foot on the golf course. It was an abject disaster to its definition. Stear clear if you want an enjoyable round of golf.
Feels like I got scammed
Where to start… A month after GHIN posting season has opened the greens are still not healed from the aeration, the tee boxes are the same length as the first cut of rough, there are geese and poop EVERYWHERE, and if you are a longer hitter and don’t bring your A game off the tee you will likely hit a house or two. I played on a misty Monday morning and they robbed me for $70. I am very disappointed!
Course was in great shape tee boxes seamed hard at times. Will definitely be back. Sandwiches in bar were great.
Seems to be going downhill
I’ve played this course a bunch of times. I have grown more and more disappointed with the course, the amenities, and the staff.
The fairways and rough looked very similar. The tee boxes had very long grass, and the cart paths had so many potholes.
It has been a while since I’ve played here, so maybe I just didn’t recognize how bad it has gotten, or I was naive… either way, I’m in no rush to go back and probably won’t unless it is for a charity event.
This course is complete crap. They don’t take care of it at all! I’ll never play here again! Definitely not worth paying $81
Aerated greens with greens keeper revenge placement
I wish that there was a way to force courses to post the dates they aerate the greens. Seems paying full price to Putt across a moonscape is just not really fair. There was a great deal of upturned soil and dirt on every fairway as well. I like the layout of the track and the people could not be nicer, but the course conditions lack a lot to be desired.
back to normal tee
getting better shape
love green speed
Ranger
Kinda tough to play and enjoy it while you’re stuck behind 2 6 person groups with 3 of them being new to the game
Nice place
Can’t really expect too much this time of the year a couple more weeks I’m sure the course will look great
Paid $60 for absolute dog track. Never coming back here again.
