Monday at Midland
We got there early and got off to a scheduled start time. The course showed some wear especially on the tee boxes and I guess they forgot to remind players to FIX THEIR BALL MARKS. Every green needed repair. That’s the reason for us taking longer than we thought per hole.
We got done and had lunch. Nice basic menu but a couple more choices of protein (chicken, fish) might have been nice.
Mainland Golf experience
For the price, Course is a good deal (using golfpass). Greens were in excellent shape but a tad slow. Most Fairways were in good shape. Pace of play not so great resulting in 4 3/4 hour round. Pro shop and starter were friendly.
Return to Mainland
I hadn’t been to this course in many years. Fun course then I thought was fair but had challenges to it can score well putting the ball in good places but also can recover if you get off the beaten path.
Friendly Staff
I had read reviews discussing rude staff. Our experience was anything but. Check in at the pro shop super friendly. Needed a handicap flag which was also provided with such a positive attitude. Finally the starter could not have been nicer.
Pace of play was fine for a busy Friday afternoon. Love the course. Wish they had forward forward tees because with the exception of one hole red and gold we’re basically the same.
We will be back!
Beautiful day at Mainland
Had a very nice time today at Mainland on a gorgeous Monday afternoon. The course is is good condition overall. The green side bunker on 13 is completely devoid of sand. The dirt is as hard as asphalt. The greens slope too much for my liking but that’s because I’m not a good putter lol.
Bad owners
You can feel the greed by the time you get to the register.
A little short but I like that
The length of the course was less than I realized, however I like that since I only average 200 yards on my drives. I had much more opportunities for birdies and pars than I would have on a 6,000 yds. + course. Course was in nice condition although the greens had been somewhat recently aerated, but they were still pretty fast especially considering it is spring. They must get super fast in mid summer and when fully recovered . You seriously don’t want any downhill putts. The course was very picturesque with what seemed like a lot of water and slanted fairways with a couple interesting holes in the mix. Back nine definitely easier than the front and the greens are relatively small. Wish the snack bar had been open at the turn albeit was late afternoon, early evening on a weekday. Price was also reasonable. Could be one of my new favorite courses.
Great Outing!
Well manicured course with great fairways and reasonably fast greens and pin positions. There are quite a few blind shots so playing there for the first time was a bit challenging. We found the the yardage on the card was not consistent with tee placement and distance between the tees so this could use correction. Overall the course was well worth it.
Decent course a little pricey, starter was rude/cranky and then ranger came by several times giving us a whole speech to basically to speed us up and threatened to remove us… Ruined the vibe and we were not even behind, we had an older gentleman with us but our pace was fine. Not our fault we teed off 10 minutes late. Ended up being held up anyways.
Tee Time Registration Issues
The only disappointment experience is that the Course Administrator took the Liberty to move out our tee time to accommodate a late entry of a Foursome followed by a Threesome. In doing so, my Grandson and I finished the round in a darker dusk and a later time than we had planned.
Mainland
Course was in good shape with the exception of the tee boxes, need a little work there.
