Respite from the norm
The best was making a tee time the night before. That is unheard of these days. Because of that alone I will play this course again.
Great doglegs around wildlife ponds and marshes make it an interesting course but not too difficult. Greens were quick and breaks were mean but not hard to read (just hard for me to putt). The fairways were nice but in late July brown is necessary. They keep the rough short. Not many bunkers if any.
The round went quickly. Tee times are ten minutes apart (Spokane municipal courses are six minutes apart) but a pair making the turn to play the nine hole course twice slipped in in front of us. Still pace of play was good. Most were riding in carts but it is a very walkable nine.
It was a very pleasing outing. Sunday night I worried I wouldn't be able to play golf at all and Monday I am enjoying an after round lunch before noon.
Yellow
Not much to say. Very poor condition. Needs lots of tlc and water.
always fun
course is challenging in that you can't just grip and rip every shot. I rarely carry over 250 from the tee but alll holes are still reachable from the whites. greeen roll well, fairways are OK, not great and there is a great mix of doglegs, straight holes and interesting par 3 surrounded by water on 3 sides. Great value for the money.
fun course
fairways are dying a slow death, but the greens are nice. I'm not sure if that's normal for this part of the country this time of year. Clubhouse staff always nice. Easy walk, fun course, good pace. I'll play it again for sure while I'm in town.
Great Course for the money!
If you're tired of spending money on carts all over the city but waiting every single shot you take (making the cart almost pointless in buying in the first place) then try here any weekday. Is it as nice as other city owned properties? No, honestly not close. But for the money you spend in the city, $75ish I walked 9 holes for $20.08 and it took 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Fun as usual
A little rugged because of winter conditions, but still a challenge and fun 9.
Challenging Layout
I love the Plains. In my opinion it’s a good challenge but fair. There’s some water in play and blind shots. A few holes you might want to keep the big dog in the bag.
Good course, just caught it when the greens just got punched, other than that fun, challenging course. And a great value.
They killed this course.
It use to hold tournaments but once it went to 9-holes everyone started to leave. Covid days are over and IMO owner was too greedy selling the front 9 when he had a great opportunity to compete against the Spokane municipal courses. Because of bad owner management, I’ve found a better course to spend my time and money at. Sad I use to love the Fairways and the willow tree. Now I see the willow tree dying.
Ready for the season
The staff was awesome- the course had spring conditions as expected. Look forward to going back soon!!
Carts?
We pre payed for green fees and cart. But there weren't any carts. Do I get credited back for the carts not being included even though we paid for them..

Worth the Hot Deal
We had some extra time on our trip to Spokane so I snagged an offer for nine holes with a cart. Lovely two hours just the hubby and I. Kinda sad tho, sounds like up until last fall, it had been a pretty nice 18 hole course. Note, new name is The Plains, it used to be call the Fairways. Also, our GPS tried to bring us in from the north... can't get through that way, entrance on the south side.
Disappointing experience
With two groups of new players in front of us pace of play was so slow we asked for a rain check on the back nine which they happily gave us. The staff was very friendly and accommodating,
We apologize for the slow pace of play during your visit and appreciate your understanding. We are glad that our staff was friendly and accommodating, and we hope to provide you with a better experience in the future. Thank you for leaving a review.
