Pine Hills Golf Course

About
Pine Hills Golf Course is a championship course that was carefully carved from the beautiful North Woods located 30 minutes northwest of Shawano. The abundance of mature trees is the layout's defining characteristic. They shape the doglegs and line the fairways, making accuracy a necessity. There is also a surprising amount of elevation changes throughout that make the course even more challenging. The occasional water hazard comes into play but they do not pose a serious threat. Good course management is key but overall it is a playable round no matter what your skill level though it doesn't hurt to warm up on the club's driving range or putting green. Pine Hills G.C. location nestled within the forest may explain why it is still one of the best-kept secrets in central Wisconsin.

Love this place
This is a really nice course. I try and play here multiple times a year. I wish they still had the carts with the gps/range.
Great value for nice course
Course was in great shape given lack of rain Varied layout give options to use every club in the bag. Greens were quick.
Course has changed hole order
The course changed the order of the holes and it was not updated on any of the 3 GPS maps I've used so it was a little confusing. Signage was ok but we still got lost for a short time
A little off
I’ve heard a lot of good things about this course over the years. I was a little disappointed in the conditions, dirt tee boxes, large ruts in greens etc.. The pace of play was horrendous, two groups of 5+ that didn’t let people play through. Staff was overall very nice and friendly, could use a little better organization took, 5 hours to play 18 with a cart as a single.
Not worth the drive
Course layout was really strange. No flow to the course, really weird layout. Greens were fast but they were the best part of the course. Personally would not play again.
Pine Hills Golf Course
When looking at the website, it promoted that each golf cart had GPS monitors, which they did not. The staff at the clubhouse was not friendly or helpful. The course was very hard to navigate for first time golfers, not well marked. Tee boxes were not well maintained.
Coarse was in fair shape. Conditions were dry and greens were just coming out of winter conditions. Rough was too long and should have been cut. Front nine holes changed from last year but they never communicated the change at the club house prior to golfing. Maybe by fall the coarse will be back to where it once was.
This course has poor conditions
The tee boxes fairways and greens all had bare areas and the fairways also seemed to have “burned out” areas as if it had just been through a hot dry August yet it was only May.
Muh
Course wasn’t in as good of condition as it was earlier in the year. They were plugging the greens on the front nine so had to play the back nine twice. That was OK but they let other groups out and had to wait 30 between nines. Second trip around was really slow
Just DEW it
We have played this course numerous times and consider it a hidden gem. However this time upon arrival we were told the front 9 was closed so we would have to play the back 9 twice. Since I booked online there was no way for me to know this ahead of time. We can deal with that. However the greens had not been mowed or cleared of the morning dew and it was thick. I don't know if it was because grounds crew were working in the front 9 but it made for very difficult putting and quite frankly not fun. The dew was still on the greens to some extent when we finished our round at noon.
Poor communication
Showed up to play the coarse after purchasing on line previously.
Was not able to play the coarse due to an outing at the coarse. Course was closed to golfers with a sign at the front door saying that the back greens were also closed. Totally disappointed with both GolfNow and Pine Hills. Drive time to the coarse was 1:30 minutes.
