Hayward Golf Club

I hosted a group of 20 guys up to Hayward for the weekend. We ended up playing at Hayward GC twice during this time and really enjoyed it. The staff was very hospitable and friendly and willing to work with us as we encountered a small issue due to a frost delay in one of the rounds. The course is an old-school design with tree lined holes throughout. The front 9 takes you across the road from the clubhouse and winds back and forth with some challenging holes to finish the front. Holes 6 and 7 are challenging par 4's that run parallel followed by a short par-3 8th over water. The front finishes with a dogleg left par-5 that creates deception as the pond guarding the green is a lot farther away from the green that it looks while standing in the fairway. The back 9 is the more challenging of the 2 9's. Holes 10 and 11 are stern par 4's followed by a tough par 3 12th. Hole 13 is probably the only forgettable hole on the course and it finishes with some nice risk/reward holes. All in all, the conditions were good. The fairways were a little patchy in places and could benefit being mowed a little shorter but for the price Hayward is steal and I strongly recommend.

My cart was not cleaned or sanitized. Trash from previous golfers left in cart. Very disappointing.

I have over 200 golf balls in my collection of courses that I have played. Hayward Golf Club is too good of a course to pass up! The greens, fairways and bunkers are all so consistent. You know exactly how you need to hit each shot that you play. It is awesome!!

The friendly and knowledgeable staff, course layout and excellent maintenance, great food and beverage service, and reasonable rates make the Hayward Golf Club a must golf destination.

Hayward Golf Club is one of the Best Courses in the Midwest. One of best deals for the money nationwide of which I have played in 39 states. Hayward Open golf tournament there is a great experience that I travel back from East Coast every year. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. Course conditions are always top notch. A must play when in Northern Wisconsin.

Poor golfers and staff. I felt like an outsider, not welcomed or wanted.

Have played this course regularly for 8 years. It is always in top condition. Challenging enough but fair for all. Tremendous value for the dough. Lots to do in and around nearby Hayward.
