Bad greens
Greens were mostly sand. Many water hazards so bring lots of balls. Beautiful, hilly course. Very challenging.
Florida Visitor
What a fun experience. Friendly staff and very accommodating allowing me to go off the back 9 as there was a group scramble going off the front, with no issue making the turn. Challenging layout that was fun to play. Grounds crew working hard to get recovered from heavy rain. Much different than southwest Florida golf courses I am used to playing. If you want a challenge, play this course.
Bring your A golf game
Always challenging and one of my favorite area courses due to the well kept greens great course layout.
Value Golf Experience
The course is set in the woods, is very tight, and has lots of water. Besides that, it was fun to play. Course has seen lots of rounds as the tee boxes are in pretty rough shape. Good course for the cost of play. Would play again, but would not be my first choice when visiting Jackson.
For coming off a VERY wet week/weekend it played pretty well. Only got to play the back 9 b/c the front floods very easily, not the courses fault. Greens were a little hairy & patchy but more than likely due to the immense amount of rain we had throughout the week and Saturday. Fairways were in great shape per usual. Didn’t catch the guys name in the pro shop but he was great. Not the usual person I see but it has been a year since I’ve played here due to a back injury. But I can say if he is the new guy this course in all aspects will be getting an upgrade. One thing i did like that’s new to me here, is the carts have a gps on them that have yardage for the players. All in all I’d recommend playing here. Good price for a good course.
Good golf but challenging for my play
Bay Pointe is one of the best semi private course in Mississippi. The fairways were slightly on the hard side and greens were pretty fast. There is a fair amount of water but very few sand traps. All and all, a very good course.
My challenge was that the course was fairly narrow and doglegged many of the holes. And for some reason, I could not find my ball when it wasn’t in the fairway since the rough was fairly hard and I had a hard time judging where it stopped rolling.
Anyway, it’s a good course and would recommend for players that are single digit handicap or hit fairly straight and consistent.
1. Online booking is easy and convenient.
2. The Pro Shop has some neat items, and us well stocked.
3. The golf carts are equipped with GPS systems, so knowing what club to hit, and where to hit it is very helpful.
4. The practice facilities are really nice, and it allowed me to practice my full swing and short game.
5. The greens were rolling great.
Quirky
Place is a little rough around the edges, but the holes definitely have some character.
Where do I start?
The phrase “Truth in Advertising” could never be more applicable than in describing this golf experience.
The pictures on the website do not match the experience you’re about to embark upon.
This course had been “rode hard, and put up wet”. I guess at one point this was a phenomenal course. The layout is beautiful, if you can get past all the poorly maintained tee boxes, fairways, and greens, otherwise it’s in great shape!
As for the amenities the “men’s locker” clearly had not been cleaned since 1992, nothing more disgusting than going into a room that smells like last years urine.
The course actually matches the neighborhood, poorly maintained yards and homes, poorly maintained golf course. Where’s the pride in ownership?
They were jerks. Players and staff. 10/10 would not recommend. Some one came up to us while we were playing, just to tell us that we sucked. He told us this multiple times. We were simple just trying to have fun. We were not disruptive or slow. Would not recommend.
Greens were great
Fun layout alongside Jackson Mississippi's Ross Barnett Reservoir. Hole 1 is really fun. Love finishing up on 18 by the Clubhouse. Great service, fun GPS golf carts, best prices in town.
