Scenic and Welcoming Golf Experience
Mountain View Golf Course on Fort Huachuca is a true gem, offering an enjoyable experience for golfers of all skill levels. The well-maintained greens and fairways are beautifully complemented by breathtaking mountain views, making each round a scenic retreat. The staff is friendly and accommodating, ensuring that every visit is a pleasant one. Whether you're a local or just visiting, Mountain View is a must-play course that delivers both quality and value.
Lack of schedule management
I’m only dinging on the things the staff can control. A scheduled tee time should be prioritized over walk ins and the staff should manage that by giving the walk ins a time to tee off that does not conflict with the scheduled ones. I had to wait for a foursome and 2x two somes that walked in just a few mins before my tee time. The value for the overall course and its conditions seems to be unfair. Seems more like a $30, 18 hole course instead of $40.
Good shape
Too windy but played anyway
This course is always busy but wind reduced play
Nice place to play
Always a good place to play
Good shape
Slow play
No worries as we finished before closing time
Ready to try it again
We were asked rudely to pick up our game because we had a scramble behind us. Poor scheduling! Should have put us behind the scramble. We couldn't go much faster because we had a foursome in front of us. Even though I am pretty much a beginner, I shouldn't go to a golf course and be rushed to play my round that I paid money for just like everyone else.
We don’t do Golf Now
When I checked in the counter person said that they don’t do Golf Now. I said I booked and paid online. I showed him my confirmation and he was dumbfounded. He gave me a cart key and said check in with the starter. All was fine from that point. The golf course is owned by the US Government and they don’t spend much money on improvements. The fairways are OK but just don’t get off of them. The greens are fast with undulations. Many 3 putts. It’s a nice layout with great views. It just needs some work.
Will never play here again
Played at this golf course for 11 years up until last year. Golf course is in good shape. Nice clubhouse & Pro shop. Most of the Pro shop staff is professional, but the lead pro shop person is incredibly rude & unprofessional, along with the some of the bar staff. The course is nice, the rates are good, but because of the staffs behavior, which can ruin your whole day, I would recommend going to PDS or San Pedro Golf Courses.
Mountain View
Very scenic.. course conditions were good green great . Fairways had some repairs in progress and wet spots from irrigation excess. Cart paths mostly dirt paths but you can drive down fairways on most holes. Signage was adequate. Carts were good - they had ball/ club cleaners on carts which is a plus as balls and clubs muddy up easily.
Overall a great value and enjoyable. We did the tees for troops program which covered the greens fees. Regular rates are lower too. Call for winter special rates and times
Disappointing
All I ever heard while in the Military, was this was a must play. It held All Military Service in the past, must have had a better maintenance staff.
I was disappointed - slow greens - muddy fairways.
Disappointed
Don’t you think it’s important to tell prospective customers when they call to book a tee time that only half of your course is open for play???
Disappointed
When I made this reservation I was hoping for an enjoyable day. Upon checkin, was disappointed to find out the back nine was closed!!! Wouldn’t you think that would be important to mention when people call to book a tee time!!! Front nine too busy to golf it twice!!! Spoiled the day for me and a buddy!!!
Good Value - Poor Condition - Still Fun
First played this course about 13 years ago when it was in excellent condition. The course is quite interesting with a variety of challenging holes, sloping greens and beautiful views.
The site of many US Army championships, course conditions have unfortunately deteriorated over the years due to water restrictions, funding issues, and perhaps Commanding Generals who aren't golfers.
That's too bad because the course layout is a lot of fun. Still worth playing if you find yourself visiting Sierra Vista.
I made a typo on the tip --- greens break away from mountains, not toward them!
