Beautiful setting
It had rained hard the night before we played, so the course was a little soggy. That didn’t detract from how beautiful the course is! The course was well kept and challenging. The 18th hole was brutal, but we had a great time and will be back! Highly recommended!
Nice Course/Horrible Service
The course is a challenging and fair course. Holes 2,3, and 18 are extremely narrow. However, the rest of course is more fair. holes 17 and 18 feel like a different course.
POOR SERVICE: You have to walk to the carts from the other side of the street. Two card kids sat in their own carts looking at their phones and didn’t acknowledge me as I walked up. I had to initiate conversation by asking, “Do I take any cart?” Their response, “yeah”. I then asked, “Who am I paired up with?” Their response was “We don’t know.”
ZERO WATER on the entire course! No restroom on the entire front nine. At the tenth tee there was a snack shack that was closed at 4pm. No bev cart girl. On the last 5 holes every tee box had the foursome in front of us and we were a threesome. So seven people waiting on the group in the fairway. On the last hole (par 5) there were 5 groups. One on the green, two groups in the fairway, two groups on the tee box. Called clubhouse on 14th tee, was told “No Marshall he left at 2.” It was 92 degrees and zero water, no snack bar, no bev cart.
Competitive course
Beautiful course, layout, dusty cart paths, course marshal was on course.Very impatient golfers.
Plays much tougher than the card suggests
If you do not hit your drives straight the tree-lined fairways will eat you alive. And the fast greens will challenge you when you eventually arrive. I can't believe the slope and rating are accurate for this recently reconfigured layout, which by the way, routes you dangerously across a busy street. And then there is the insanely routed par five 18th that measures 594 from the white tees and is only the 3rd hardest hcp! Really?
Bison
Very good conditions. Tight fairways, super fast greens, hard sand. Fun to play. Cart paths bumpy and dusty.
Difficult course
If you are a player who relies on your driver, and wide open fairways; this might not be the course for you. While it is a stunning course lined end to end with trees. It is a very challenging course with narrow fairways and very little rough to play.
Slow play
No Marshall’s on the course and we left after the 15th hole because it was taking 20 minutes per shot. After passing up the 2 groups ahead of us on the 16th hole there was no one one 17 or 18?
Pace of play, AGAIN!
This is a wonderful course. This being said, I should not be annoyed almost every time we play there. The problem is there is little to no course management in regards to pace of play. I have never seen a Marshal there and nobody is around to keep the Golfers on some type of schedule. I guarantee that this fact will keep the serious golfers away!
Always up for a challenge.
First time playing this course, and as with most challenging courses, it always helps to know what is up ahead. Paired with Bruce who had played the course, was very nice and helped my wife and I navigate the terrain. Thanks Bruce.
Greens were in excellent shape and super fast. Hats off to the superintendents and crew. Overall enjoyable round.
Afternoon rains help keep the course in good shape. Will try to come back.
Bison Golf
No staff at check in. Cart boy had to handle the jobs of checking players in, providing carts and getting players started. Mass confusion at start. No starter. Players said this was typical. Carts kept outside at night and each one had been rained on and were soggy. Paths between tee boxes was confusing. No Marshall on course so slow play. Score cards were not provided. Course needs management and staff to operate at a basic service level. We will not be returning to this course.
Golf cart paths
They really need to pay attention to the golf cart paths. They’re in terrible shape. Other than that the course was beutiful
Much more than I thought!
When thinking of playing new courses that I've never heard of I look at the reviews. A couple years back I'd checked into this course and the reviews were mostly poor. Yesterday, when both of the courses we usually play at were not available at the time I wanted we thought we'd take a chance. We were pleasantly surprised to say the least. The course was in good condition and quite literally did not line up with the poor reviews I had seen. Don't be fooled by others nonsense and check this place out for yourself!
