Bison Golf
No staff at check in. Cart boy had to handle the jobs of checking players in, providing carts and getting players started. Mass confusion at start. No starter. Players said this was typical. Carts kept outside at night and each one had been rained on and were soggy. Paths between tee boxes was confusing. No Marshall on course so slow play. Score cards were not provided. Course needs management and staff to operate at a basic service level. We will not be returning to this course.
Golf cart paths
They really need to pay attention to the golf cart paths. They’re in terrible shape. Other than that the course was beutiful
Much more than I thought!
When thinking of playing new courses that I've never heard of I look at the reviews. A couple years back I'd checked into this course and the reviews were mostly poor. Yesterday, when both of the courses we usually play at were not available at the time I wanted we thought we'd take a chance. We were pleasantly surprised to say the least. The course was in good condition and quite literally did not line up with the poor reviews I had seen. Don't be fooled by others nonsense and check this place out for yourself!
Nice course hard to follow
This course was absolutely beautiful but if I was not paired with a lady that knew her way around the course I would DEFINITELY had been lost. The signage was week at best!! If ever their was a course that should have GPS in its golf carts it’s this course!! Again it was a beautiful course and the whole staff was very kind and welcoming. My only complaint was I would have been very frustrated trying to figure where the next hole would have been.
Relax Karen
Great laid back course. Life happens to small places and that’s what happened when I visited the Bison. The staff were able to make lemonade out of an unforeseen situation and were always pleasant. Course was in immaculate shape and especially the greens. Word is there’s a gentleman who lives on the course and repairs ball marks overnight left by the savages. If you’re visiting from out of town, just relax and roll with the flow.
Great Course! Golf shop guy needs manners.
First time playing. Checked in and guy behind counter had the manners of a 3 year old. Wouldn’t tell me anything about the course (such as where was the 1sr tee) and when asked if they sold socks, he said “check the pro shop” and left! Figured out where the pro shop was but I had to. locate the guy again to buy the socks. The course itself is really cool if you like a mountain layout, which I do. Want to come back but hopefully staff is having a better day.
Great track. Pro shop guy: zero customer service
The pro shop kid acted like we were inconveniencing him because we had never been to the course before and didn’t know where to go. He also told us the driving range was closed as it was being mowed. I asked if there was a chance that our 4some could tee off early since the range was closed. He said no. Literally that’s verbatim what his response was.
We drove out to the range/first tee area and saw that the range was not closed with no mower in sight and six golfers hitting range balls.
There were zero groups that teed off in the 30 minutes leading up to our tee time. As unhelpful and irritated as the pro shop kid was…the starter was the complete opposite. He was awesome and got us off early. Weird.
The course is great. The greens were lightning FAST. Loved the track. Fun and beautiful. Wholeheartedly recommend this course besides the pro shop kid. Apologies to him for interrupting his Instagram time.
Great high country golfing experience
Definitely a good test of golf. Some holes are extremely tight shooting through canyons of trees. Slippery greens.
Greens at Bison Golf course
11.5 stimp. Soft to shots but firm to putt. Great course
Tough Course But Well Worth It!
It rained quite a bit before we got there so it was a little smushy in places but the greenskeeping staff did an excellent job. Fast greens but receprive and fair. The cart kids were excellent as well as the cashier and the starter. Will try to go back someday and tame it.....Ha Ha!
SLOW PLAY
The course is very nice with enough challenges to keep it interesting. Main problem is 4 somes of ancients that hold up play. Wait on every shot. Course was very wet from rains and mowing hadn't happened for some time.
Great Value Great Green’s on Mountain Golf Course
Hey it’s not Torreon, but what a cool track. I’d say the greens were as close to as good. I’ll def be back. My only complaint is not enough bathrooms & cabin homes everywhere.
Fun Track, super fast greens
Loved the course, all interesting holes, some might be considered quirky. greens were super fast, almost unfair when paired with large slopes and tilt of greens.
highly recommend this course
Always seems wet..
No matter what time we have played course is usually wet. Greens true and much more fair than sister course Silver Creek.
