The Preserve at Deer Creek is a nine-hole, par-36 golf course in New Berlin, just 25 minutes outside of Milwaukee. Opened in 2003, the affordable course is still one of Waukesha County's best-kept secrets. It is fun for a quick round and it is also a great place for beginners to hone their skills. The player-friendly layout still has some bite to it with subtle but tricky contours and strategically placed bunkers. The golf course also boasts excellent conditions on the greens and fairways. While it may not be the place you are looking for if you are in search of a formidable test, it is the perfect spot for getting in some fast practice. There are also three different sets of tees so that you can tailor the golf course to your abilities.

Nice Course... Good Value
We played Saturday morning 8/1. The clubhouse is basic with only the essentials. There is a small putt and chip area. No range. Just a couple of old school driving nets. The carts are gas powered and come with nothing. No tee's, towels, divot/seed repair, and water/cooler. Tee boxes are decent. Fairways are OK, but have a mixture of weeds and crabgrass. The out of bounds are true. No recovery shots. The cuts are drastic and the rough is thick. The greens are in good shape and vary in speed. Pace of play was typical for a Saturday morning. Overall it was a nice round...
Play at the Preserves
Went out as single and played Ok. I was bottled necked after 3 holes where I had to wait for the remaining holes. I had a 5-some ahead of me with
3 inexperienced golfers who didn't understand golf rules on letting me play through. I should have been done earlier with constant movement on course. Again, I had to wait for 6 holes. Price is a little high for 9 holes of play. I can go elsewhere and play 18 for almost the same cost.
Not bad, interesting and fun
I like playing here when the price is right. Played here twice this year and enjoyed my round both times. Only draw backs were one foursome holding up everyone and the third and sixth fairways need work, This is a constant year after year, especially the third hole.
Staff always golf friendly and course is challenging enough to leave it off the easy list. You better have your driver warmed up before starting because you need three decent drives right away to avoid big numbers early. I wouldn't call it a "gem", but it's a fun course if you need a quick nine. I'll give it a 7.
Decent
Course came along since I played it in the spring.Huge greens in good shape..To many geese
The Hidden Gem
Great 9 hole golf course. I call it the hidden gem of Waukesha County.
do not play
I would not play this course again !! it is in bad shape !! poor fairways -- greens ok !! worth only $ 5
Good day of golf
Course is new and it shows. It lacks a sense of completeness. Fairways are not consistent. Some just look like cut yard grass. Other holes look great. It's probably just how this course is progressing in its immaturity to mature playable course. Give it ten years and it will be one of the more challenging courses.
Nice Course for a Quick 9
Played the Preserve for the first time with the wife. Pleasantly surprised as to the nice layout and quality maintenance of this 9 hole course. Would definitely play it again when 18 doesn't fit into the schedule.
Crisp clean sporty course
We booked this tee time on line and had never played this course before. It is a gem! Sporty, challenging, and fun to play. Grass was somewhat damaged in the fairways...seemed to be from excess water (rain) this year. Great practice for going over water hazards! We will definitely play here again.
Worth the money
If you want a cheap nine hole course that looks great this is a good one.
Challenging for a Beginner
We played this course with a great deal with the hot tee times. The course has a lot of little areas with thick weeds, water and cat tails. This made it a little tricky for a beginner. Good place for a weekday 9 holes. Of course a few geese on the course. We will be back again especially with the hot deals. The clubhouse and the facility are very nice, new and clean.
Slow play with no oversight on the course
The course started out nice, and then quickly became evident that we were not going to play 9 in 2 hours or less. At one point there were 8 young guys hitting 10 balls a piece Into the 8th green. Someone should hve come out and move them along and helped with pace of play.
Fun times
Very nice place to golf at . Friendly staff .
Course was well kept. Smaller golf course . But a nice place to spend time with a lady friend , wife , or kids to enjoy ur day.
This course is worth the price.
The course is improving and will be a great all around course within a year or two. Great value for a little 9 hole course with some challenging holes.
Great Value
Greens and tee boxes were in decent shape. All but 2 fairways were also good overall, but a vast improvement over the last spring. Some tree placements are somewhat strange, but overall its a course worth playing for the value.
Random Arborist
Course is a bit confusing. Looks like winter was hard on the fairways. Especially #3.
They have a stream that cuts thru every hole so you need to hit a decent drive to clear.
And the trees seem to have been planted randomly. Almost every hole has a tree in an odd place, usually right in the middle of the fairway. I don't mind obstacles, but it seems that from the tee most holes don't seem to make sense because your view is blocked. Got a great deal so can't complain too much. Clubhouse is nice.
Dad's Day
With the nicest Pro Shop folks I have ever met, the day started great but the pace of play was incredibly slow. Though it was Fathers Day, and there were loads of folks playing who normally would not be, they should have paired folks together to make up 4-somes. The conditions were a bit ragged for so early in the season. Many areas where grass was sparse. We enjoyed ourselves despite the sloth-like pace due to some folks we paired ourselves up with.
Not great, but a good value
Two fairways were not in great condition, but playable. Greens were in pretty good shape overall, but a few were spotty in areas. Not many people there on a Saturday moning, so pace was excellent.
Can't beat the Hot Deal!
C'mon, $9 for a round with cart? You can't beat it. Staff was friendly, had a great time. Course conditions this early in the season weren't optimal, but again, $9!
ok
Played for $10 walking and at that price its ok. At least 4 fairways need work but greeens are ok. layout is just ok also.
